Run Lola Run, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, All the Queen's Men, The Devil's Backbone, The Orphanage, any of the old Italian zombie flicks. Sorry they are mostly suspense and horror, it's what I usually watch.

I agree with many of Faye's choices: Love Me If You Dare and Priceless are both good love movies. A good fantastical French movie is the City of Lost Children.

PANS LABYRINTH - it was really good. its about princess who was reborn and has to do three missions before the full moon or else she cant return but in the middle of all this there are family problems.. Its in Spanish but it has subtitles so dont worry about that. but it's really good..to me at least. Its a Fantasy Adventure.

: D
Most well known English movies are good then. : D
28 days later, Trainspotting, Lock Stock, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Millions etc Fairly recently, there was 'This Is England' - a semi-biographal about a guy who got caught up in a skin-head gang in the early 80s when he was only 12 - which is also good.
And I agree with above, Pan's Labyrinth is a fantastic movie. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned already.

I would recommend Amelie, The Host, Nightwatch, Daywatch, and I just finished watching Happy Together.

For horror Marebito, the Hidden Stair, the Host [more scifi-ish], el Espinanza del diablo, 1st & 3rd Ju-on
Pan's Labryth is good
For romance [and I hate romances] I love the L'Amant Only movie to ever make me cry and I still cry every time I watch it
