I read about it, thats ******** stupid. Our public schools adopted the uniform policy this last year, and aparently are renewing it this next year. PUBLIC SCHOOLS, and their reason? Becuase of the growing ammount of kids wearing cloths alike, They said taht It was too much of a cult..as that paper had said. They said the goth and emo population, and teh gangs, are getting to much in young kids, Therefore, they think if they take away our individuality, we won't be like that anymo0re. The killings in my school have not stopped, the drug use is worse..but not better, kids are getting expelled for refusing to dress alike. We even had a protect last summer and probably will again this summer as teh code is not just in our community schools, but expanding to teh surrounding schools.
"They look so nice" is what one reporter had said but she didn't go sit in a class for a day and see how little teaching the teachers are doing, instead, they are sending kids out, or writing them up for their dress code violations. Our ISTEP scores are no better and our school will still be taken over by the state. They still want to blame the rising number of kids taht are dressing alike for it. GET REAL. Just becuase tehy make us dress alike does NOT mean those kids awill suddenly not be a gangbanger, or not be emo, or not be goth.
Updated info we have on the revise of it http://www.theheraldbulletin.com/archivesearch/local_story_142195646.html
Parents now think it's OK to make us use the uniforms here's some of that
http://www.theheraldbulletin.com/archivesearch/local_story_145172350.html
Oh yeah not to mention teh ******** price! Higher than we normally spend..here's that (they lie...it's not affordable as our town is becoming a ghost town)
http://www.theheraldbulletin.com/archivesearch/local_story_145172350.html
And these people where thrown out of court for trying to fight the policy.

I would like to point out here, that I had to wear a uniform at school (when I was there) and didn't end up any less of an individual.

Pur public schools encourage being different and an individual, there is 3 colors you can waer, how the hell can you make yourself different when you all have to wear the same 3 colors?
