My parents always (like, A LOT!) ask me how i am doing. i'm thankful that they care, but it gets really annoying. also because when i am in a bad/sad mood i dont like talking to them about it, i just want to be left alone. does anybody else have parents that are like this?

YEAH.
But I'm living with it, no matter how annoying it may be. I know that once I leave in four months I'll miss it.
A little.

I'm at University at the moment. I miss having someone asking how i'm doing that genuinely cares. You may hate it at the moment. But you will come to miss it some day.

If I have problems I keep them to myself. No sense worrying my mum. She's a queen worrier!

My mum knows I'm depressed and stuff, so she doesn't really bother to ask.

Both my parents know I'm depressive. My mom has mastered checking in on me without over doing it. She lives over nine hours away and calls once or twice a week. My dad is in denial about my mood and only calls once or maybe twice a month. He only lives twenty minutes away. I know he cares, but sometimes I don't feel like he does. confused

Parents ask all the time....it's part of the flow of life.

They worry, and fret, and behind closed doors they chat about what could possibly be bothering their darling child.

Half the time, they feel helpless....not knowing what to do, or say to make you feel better about your problems.

the other half of the time, they seem overprotective and nosey, but they really have your best interests at heart.

it's a struggle.....between letting you live your life, and trying to guide you down the path that they think is best for you.

The problem is.....

parents oftentimes make the mistake of trying to blindly guide and mold their children in their own images based on how they were raised. We forget what it was like when we were teenagers as time passes....it's the nature of adulthood.

On the other side of the coin, you feel like you are old enough, and wise enough to make your own decisions....but 90% of the time you make unwise choices and/or decisions, which may result in you getting hurt or in trouble with authority figures, all in the name of fun and freedom...sad but true.

I've reached that age in life, where my parent is more like a good friend to me. Sure, they still offer advice (wether I want it or not) on things they observe happenning in my world, but they do so out of love for me, and understand that I'm my own person, and not their little boy anymore.

My dad calls me today. And he lent me a power drill ;D Those things rawk.

Yeah, I'm pretty close with my family. Not so much my sister, though. She's insane.

The first time they asked me how I felt was when I was 10 I think I was listening to apocalyptica when this happen so I think that's why they asked me are you felling alright. But I am out of the house have girl friend. But sadly enough she does the same too only to annoy me. But I still love my parents for actually asking me that I was okay.
