The Wii fit is something I'm totally looking into right now, it looks like it's fantastically cool... but so expensive. ._. but at least I wouldn't have to buy a wii... my room mate has every console out right now, (cep't the PS3)
Thoughts? Comments? Arg we hate nintendo?

im not a big fan of the wii...i like role play games such as final fantasy etc, and im not sure how it would work on the Wii if at all. Plus my gaming time is kinda like my "oh my god im so tired i just want to sit down and mindlessly play" time xd But if its gonna help you lose weight then i say go for it

Absolutely. ANY activity is better than NO activity. That said, you might be able to do just as well, or better, with an activity that doesn't cost so much. Take a walk to the store to buy your (diet) soda, instead of taking a bus. Get off the bus one stop earlier than you usually do. Summer's coming -- think about getting a bike or some in-line skates and getting to work or school that way instead of driving or taking a bus. Do five situps before each meal, just five, and it will remind you not to overeat and sabotage your good work.

It's also the most accurate scale around, up there with doctor scales and other things used for sciencey stuffs.

I have Kinetic from the eyetoy line of games for my PS2, I love it. Even my cousins do, it's fun and you burn calories. Only problem is you need lots of space to do it. So I can't do it in my room, the only place I could go was the living room which is in the middle of our house and gets a lot of traffic, so unfortunately I fell out of my routine. I want to start with it again.

I just saw the commercial, I don't find it much of a game, in some aspects sure, but I still find it interesting. I'll look into it.

Y'know, I wasn't expecting it to be as much fun as it was. I bought it today and I do not regret it at ALL. I kind of figured at first that I'd look like a retard when I was using it. (and by all accounts, I kind of do. But I don't care! It's so much fun!).
I played on it for around an hour and a half before I figured there was any time gone by at all, and between the hula games, the push up games and everything else I tried (which was everything) I was actually a little sore.
In addition to that it has a weight graph, you can track the outside activity that you do, and sorts of other things.
Beyond the actual games, the sensors in it really do what they're supposed to in telling you how you're doing, It's easy to do what it tells you and not slack off about it.
It's GREAT having a guide there, even if it's just a computer tracking your balance, but that's a big thing, because when you're balanced you're doing it right.
I think this is going to catch on VERY well.

It looks interesting, that's for sure. smile
I'm a big fan of DDR (it's helped me stay active and lose a lot of weight), so I'm all for trying out Wii Fit.
My sister has a Wii, and I ADORE Wii Sports. The only way to really get a work-out using Wii Sports, though, is to act really goofy when you're playing it (if anyone has seen "What Happens in Vegas"... definitely follow Ashton Kutcher's example)! It's definitely fun. smile

I have wii fit. its great! i guess its not for everyone, my brother would rather take runs outside, and of course i sometimes stay in toooo much. so having wii fit has helped. It actually works my muscles and i get sore from some strenght excersises that are harder, and apparantly i am soo unbalanced... I would reccomend to anyone interested, it makes working out fun but it is still very challenging!

Honestly, I barely move when I play the Wii. I don't know about Wii Fit though; I haven't played it. My game of choice is DDR. I have Extreme 2 (hard to find, but really good) and SuperNova (there may be more tacked onto that name, it's the one that comes standard now). If I'm working to perfect a song I'll play it through and for all the BOOs I get I'll do that same number of some exercise-push-ups, crunches, jumping jacks. I don't know if this actually does anything, but it's fun and it gets me sweating.

I just got my Wii Fit. It's quite fun actually and it doesn't feel like working out. : )
I was surprised when it said that I actually weighed 5 pounds less than I thought which was nice. xD
The balance games are surprisingly tough, I thought I had good balance. D :
You can also unlock different workouts which makes me want to use it more. xD

I recently got a Wii, I dont have Wii fit, though. I have DDR for it, and I don't know exactly if it is a good workout, but it's extreemely fun and makes your legs hurt if you do it long and fast enough! lol.

I was lucky enough to be in Costco when they put about 100 Wii Fit consoles on display, or else I never would have gotten my hands on one. And it was cheaper xd
But I LOVE Wii Fit. I'm at college right now and I had to leave my Wii at home, but when I was home this past summer I played it every day. A lot of the cardio events really do give you a workout. And it's just a really easy way to weigh yourself and keep track of your numbers. Plus I'm a big fan of working towards unlocking things in video games so the "earning credits" thing did make me want to play it a lot.
