Why can't people just type normally? Why do they do this:
"o u r so aw3som3 thats like my fav. band u rok kid"

It's not like you have limited space to use, and it won't kill you to spell things correctly (or atleast try to spell them correctly), and typing normally doesn't take that much time...

Typing in such a way actually takes me more effort than typing normally... I have never got used to such crippled typing :/

Like a lot of dumb things people do, they do it because they think it makes them cool.

i don't get much, but i try to type as normally as I can when it's informal, and very formal when i'm writing my fanfic...

they choose to type that way because in their own little decadent world it is cool. I disagree. Even L337 SP34K {Leet speak} is preferable to what I've seen from time to time. Though it is their choice to type incompitently, they should know that there is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

That trend is a direct result of the "texting" generation of cellphone users.

All the communication of humankind squeezed down into itty bitty bits of words....sad. The real problem is that it's only going get worse as the decades roll on, till eventually we either develop telepathy, or we revert to pictograms like the neanderthals did.
