So I've been trying to teach myself how to shake it the past couple days, and in comparison to cardio, it is so much more of a workout, but I do it longer because it's fun. Does anyone else dance for fitness? What dances do you do?

they have a dance class at my gym, but ive never tried it >.< it looks like fun, but everyone looks so co-ordinated xd i'd probably knock someone out waving my arms around. Its at les mills, they probably do it at other gyms world wide

I love dancing, but I never did it specifically for fitness. I just took dance classes and would be in great shape. That was when I had access to all the classes I wanted, in high school and college, without having to pay extra for them. It's really hard to find interesting dance classes now, that don't take place during the work day or on Saturdays. I'd love a weeknight class, and I've been wanting to get into African dance.

The only dance I do is at clubs and bars. I'll allow myself one beer knowing that it'll loosen me up enough to get on that dance floor.

I dance for fun. I wish I could dance for fitness but my friends say I dance like a hoe sweatdrop so it might not work for me.

Right now dance is one of the only exercises I do. I mean, informal dancing around to my favourite music, in my room. But I'll like, do it constantly, for atleast 15-20 minutes... because it's so fun. I just like, rock out to my awesome music. And then afterwards, I'm so happy because I've also burned some calories as well as enjoying myself just because!
(I'm terrified of gyms, or even going for jogs outside... I have a bad social anxiety at the moment....) so the dancing in my house helps a lot. I've never really taken formal dance classes, though.

I pretty much only dance at bars after a shot or two, but by god. When I do dance it burns a LOT of calories.

But after my Karaoke bar got closed due to extreme sexuality prejudice, I've stopped going to bars altogether.

I need dark lights and a lot of moving people around to get myself not caring about how I look, mostly because I *JUST* can't dance otherwise. ._.
