Since Gaston had so kindly reminded her of poor Methos, Phoenix figured she might as well bug him, if nothing else to give her something to do. First try was going to JOE'S, he seemed to be there half the time, even as she parked her beat up truck outside she paused to send him a text message. It was a try, she wasn't even sure if his phone could text, but she wasn't calling him. Taking a few more seconds to dig out a notebook and pen she slipped her phone in her back jeans pocket, then went to get out of the truck. Given it was a little after ten she had parked a little down the street but still it wasn't but a few seconds before she slipped inside the building with a simihappy smile at lest. If nothing else Joe and Mike were nice, and she was trying to stay out of her apartment given she had been there the last week or two without leaving.

Adam kept his cell phone on vibrate, in case he was trying to sneak away or something -- It would be a sorry thing to be in fear for your head only to have "Stars and Stripes Forever" or the theme from THE STING suddenly give away your position.

Pulling the phone out and opening it, he saw the text message from Phoenix at the same time as the Immortal buzz hit. Looking up from the screen, he smiled as Phoenix herself came into the bar. He waved.

That brightened her smile some, she wouldn't have to go hunting for him, always a nice thing to have people where she hoped they were. So of course she went over to him and without any warning at all gave him a hug, partly because she could, and partly because it was really nice to see someone she knew. She didn't hold on to him long before she pulled back and happily sat down, still smiling away.

The text message since he glanced at it was rather simple in context, containing the simple words '*poke?* hi?'.

Truth be told, as prickly as he might seem at times, Methos enjoyed human contact, and the brief squeeze from Phoenix was hardly unwelcome. "Poke right back atcha," he said. "Where have you been hiding?"

Methos hadn't seen much of Phoenix since his bout of amnesia, and with everything that had been going on between him and Mac he hadn't given much thought about it.

She had to give a mute giggle at his first four words at lest, the question making her pause a moment as she blinked at him, she hadn't even thought he would have noticed truth be told. Opening the notebook she brought with her she proceeded to write her answer, so clearly she wasn't talking still. Pushing the pad of paper to him she shrugged, it simply read 'home'

Methos glanced down at the pad, then up at Phoenix. "We haven't had a chance to talk about what happened to you, have we." It wasn't a question.

She pondered that a moment, oh sure the answer was no, but she didn't really care to go over it, not at all really, so she gave a simply shrug. Though her smile was pretty much dead now she still glanced about absentmindedly, just because mostly. Though a soda would have been nice. Looking back to him she tilted her head at him, even minus talking she still manged to come across as cynical, which took some talent. Though some of her randomness has fled from her eyes, not that she cared, or if she did it didn't show. Besides for now she was content to blink at him.

Methos watched her mood shift, and was wise enough not to push in such a public place. He signaled Mike for another beer and Phoenix's soda of choice, then said, "Don't worry. This is hardly the place to get into this. But, kid, take it from me -- you're not going to get better until you face things. If you don't want to talk to me, maybe Luana will do."

She frowned at the mention of Luana, someone else she'd been avoiding, her simply because she'd become all motherly like, it was creepy. He was to blunt to come off as anything like that, which was most likely why she ended up leaning out of her chair to hug him again. It was only because of that he could have heard the light giggle she gave. He amused her, pure and simple, why was anyone's guess, but he did, which was why she was happy she had found him without too much trouble. With a smile Phoenix patted the top of his head before completely retaking her seat.

Methos rolled his eyes, a quirky smile touching his lips. "All right, whenever you're ready. It's totally up to you." Their drinks arrived, and Methos asked her, "Are you hungry?"

That seemed a comment question, but she nodded, she was, she hadn't really been eating, silly her, and a bag of goldfish that she had gotten from Gaston really didn't do anything other then remind her of her lack of real food. So yeah, she was really hungry even, making her give a pleading look, just because she wasn't talking didn't mean she couldn't get her point across if she tried.

"That answers THAT question," Methos nodded, pushing Joe's menu toward her. It was a small list of offerings, but it was good American comfort food. "Burger, fries, whatever you want. My treat. My payback for being a neglectful sod."

Right now burger and fries sounded really good, even given normally she wasn't into hamburgers at all. So writing that down, along with the fact she didn't want tomato on it she added a line for him to read. Which was just a question on how he was a 'neglectful sod'. She didn't see it that way, he was having his own problems, and she was the one that had holed up inside her apartment without care for the world.

Methos relayed her order to Mike, then cocked his head at her. He was so used to being called a self-absorbed bookworm who had no idea what was going on around him that Phoenix's observation caught him off guard.

"You know, that works for me," he said, "if it works for you. But I am concerned about you. You're my student."

She gave another shrug on that, she wasn't dead, that was what counted to her in the long run of things, on top of that she was getting food, free food even. She even wrote, 'but i'm just peachy, extra peachy even, though ice cream would never be turned down'. She even had to grin at that, as if to say that he was being silly.
