It was hot. Far too hot. Preliat, the last living Eldar in the area watched from his location in the trees as what was left of the Tau force murdered his injured brothers and sisters. The Fire Warriors and Crisis Battlesuits had come from over the hill just opposite of the lone Striking Scorpion and overwhelmed the Eldar. All but one suit was destroyed and there were very few Fire Warrios left, as they attacked an almost completely Aspect formed host.

Preliat counted them several times and wondered if he'd be able to do significant amounts of damage with certain strategies. Truly, he knew his death would occur either by the hands of these Tau, or by the wandering nomadic Ork hordes who run about unchecked. It was the 10th time he'd counted the group. 8 Fire Warriors and a single Crisis Battlesuit. 8 pushovers and 1 hard target. Preliat reached to his belt and pulled up his krak grenade and stared at it, noticing, probably for the first time, every single detail on the small explosive. Thinking about it, Preliat could probably kill almost all of the Fire Warriors if he threw it just right. But at the same time, he could possibly destroy the suit with it and then, hopefully, rush the Fire Warriors in a full on sprint. Neither strategy sounded completely far fetched, nor completely infallible. But a decision needed to be made before they moved on.

It took him a second or two longer, but Preliat had made up his mind. Squeezing the krak grenade with his good hand, he began running forward, out of the trees and, primed and tossed the grenade at the Crisis Suit. The grenade landed between the suit's "feet" and detonated into it. Many of the Fire Caste warriors had been facing the other way and were a bit shaken when the suit was felled. Preliat picked his chainsword off of his back and continued running at the Fire Warriors, his legs burning from the long sprint. They opened fire on him, but he was already very close and their long range weapons were rendered practically useless. Preliat's mandiblasters stung the first Tau warior and, as the other alien flinched, his chainsword's teeth cut through the Fire Warrior and felled him. Another one, near by swung his carbine at the Eldar, but Preliat was a hand to hand expert and wasn't going to be beaten by that. The Tau missed him by a mile and tasted the same bitter end as the one before him. A third Fire Warrior managed to hit Preliat's arm, the force of the blow breaking the Scorpion's forearm. Preliat dropped his chainsword in pain, but stood up and bashed the Fire warrior with his shuriken pistol and fire two rounds into his head. 'I can do this!' He dared to hope that he might survive, after felling this many warriors. But such hope, he knew still, was false. A blistering hot bolt of energy tore through his bright green armor and burned him on the inside, his diaphragm shattered. Preliat felt his helmt getting closer to his face, some how, but he wasn't ready to stop, not just yet. Preliat fired his shuriken pistol at the nearest Tau warrior but it merely glanced off of his shoulder. The Fire Warriors' weapons continued to fire until the young Striking Scorpion no longer flinched at the burns.

Preliat could still, somehow see everything. Including his corpse on the ground, but the Fire Warriors paid him no heed. The confusion he felt soon passed on. He felt his 'body' being pulled away, and soon he found himself in the mind shattering dimension of the warp. It did not long for his soul to make its way to a massive and horrifying entity. Preliat knew, instantly that it was Slannesh. Preliat closed his eyes, and soon after was no more.

Nice, only krak grenades implode, so taking out a squad of foes is impossible with a krak.

Striking scorpions do, however, have Haywire grenades; basically short-wave EMP 'nades that devatate vehicles. The story could be easily enough altered to use that instead. 3nodding

Also, did the Tau manage to break his soulstone? Those are in place to catch the souls of Eldar deliberately so that they aren't released to Slaanesh.
