All the juniors in my English Honors class planted a tree in school. It was a great accomplishment. cool
I didn't realize today was Earth day. So I didn't wear green.
Though, I just happened to plant a bunch of flower seeds over the weekend.

I did nothing cuz I find it a waste of a day. Unless everyone(and I do mean all 7 billion people) were to stop doing non-green things for the entire day, it's pointless.

The only reason I knew it was Earth Day was because Google changed its logo to make it all tree-y.

If everyone thought like this, it'd be a sure thing that nothing would change.

Nothing changes anyway, so what's the point?

Its not really intended to change anything "overnight." The main purpose is to raise awareness of protecting our environment, and hopefully, to motivate young people to remember and teach younger generations about conservation. And even though you don't see the difference, it really does make a difference...especially if you start campaigning to elementary kids about the importance of recycling.
