I tried to fix this problem by randomly buying items I liked and could easily work themsleves into other outfits, but I guess it didn't help much...

I'm really glad you like it, although you seemed to be able to pull it off better than I could. xD

If you want to just buy a lot of random items to work into outfits, starter items can do just fine, especially if there aren't too many of them on one avatar. Usually having a lot of cheap items will help in creativity. ~ And, to say the least, your inventory is not lame at all. It's inspiring, but very limiting. sweatdrop
