British films are legendary, be they horror or classic, war or alternative..all have left a mark far greater than you would expect from such a small country as ours. Even then, some of my favourites are little-known, especially outside of Britain.

So here, finally, we can discuss the films we love without leet-typing weirdos asking us what the hell it is. So go on, which in your opinion are some of the greatest Brit films that stand out in your mind and which of all is your favourite?

Personally, I'll need to think about a favourite. I like too many, 28 Days Later, The Great Escape, Carry on up the Khyber, The Italian Job and Zulu. Damn that needs narrowing down..

..so go on, speak your minds.

The Italian Job wins hands-down. I'm sorry, but the quotes... the humour... everything.

And the ending. Can't beat an ending like that. 3nodding

Michael Caine, actor par excellence.

*profound respect*

~lol~ I WOULD bow down and worship, but I am too caught up drooling at the thought of Sean Pertwee in uniform...~coughs~

Nothing like a movie with Werewolves in Scotland...

Michael Caine is brilliant, and hilarious in Austin Powers Goldmember.

I couldn't help but be amused. xd

The first ever commentary I heard was on the Dog Soldiers DVD. I thought all of them were that funny.

Since then, I have been constantly dissapointed.

I liked it almost as much as the film itself!

biggrin

Yeah Invictus, but to be fair, the Dog Soldiers commentary is perfection. I doubt you'll find better anywhere...

James Bond is another classic. It's a comedy, or it was orginally meant to be. Look at Casino Royale! xd

Shaun of the Dead.

Okay, so it's not a GREAT movie, but it kills the time. I personally found it went on a little too long and probably would have worked better as a half hour sketch...

Then again, I am horrendously impatient.

Did anybody see Layer Cake? I thought that was very good. I heard it lost something like 1/3 of its potential profit by having such obscure advertising that nobody knew what it was about eek .
