As some of you may already know, there are several ongoing translations of all the Key visual novels except for Tomoyo After. This thread is intended to make people aware of the translations, and to keep a record of their progress. :3

Name: One ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~
Translators: AstCd2 & team
Status: Complete!
History: Completed 9/15/07
Link: The a link in the website has one, hard to see 18+ picture, so I don't think I can post it.

Name: Kanon
Translators: Originally Hæleþ, but the translation has since been taken over by NDT (Non-Directional Translations)
Status: Editing 50% complete
Link:http://radicalr.pestermom.com/vn.html
History: The translation was finished by Hæleþ, but in the middle of editing he suddenly announced that he would not be releasing the translation unless he got permission from Key to do so. (This is unlikely.) However, with Hæleþ's temporary permission, NDT has been working on finishing it for almost a year now.

Name: AIR
Translators: Anyone who wants to help on the Wikipedia
Status: 38%
Link: http://www.tsukuru.info/tlwiki/index.php?title=Air

Name: Clannad
Translators: Drama Club/Big Dango Family (演劇部/だんご大家族)
Status: Translation complete, editing is underway
History: This translation was only started on January 22%, but already it is close to completion, with only the After Route left to complete. Not too long ago, an unofficial build was also released, which you can play right now, but the quality is quite poor.

Unofficial build: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77237

Name: Planetarian ~Chiisana Hoshi no Yume~
Translators: insani
Status: Complete!!
History: Completed 2/28/05.

Nice. Although the Air project I heard was halted, I would still like to hope the game is translated by someone in the future.

Clannad, I am not too sure of, but I did make an announcement a while ago with a link to the announced translation. If I could actually get it installed right, I would see, but I cannot do it. If anyone else here has the Clannad game, it is worth a try. I couldn't crack it. (Like I said on the post, I don't know if it will actually work or not.)

^-^ I bought Clannad at an anime convention last year, and I'm using the unofficial build to play it right now. What problem are you having trying to get it to work?

Well, I got this "Seen.txt" file. The place I got it from said to replace that. I did, and it still comes up in Japanese. No idea why it isn't working. So, does your unofficial build actually have most of it translated? If so, where did you get it?

In order to play the unofficial build, you have to install the voice patch first. You can get the build, which has all of the routes except the "After" route translatated, here: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77237
The voice patch here: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41420

Actually, since the translation isn't complete, the beginning wasn't translated, and I just didn't get far enough to see that it was in English. Yeah, it is working for me. Just the names and Menus tend to be in Japanese still. And I did have the Voiced one. Anywho, it is working, so I am happy, haha.

Thank you for these ^_^
im glad they are translating them, to many people sub anime and never visual novels... and its unfair to since anime always gets licensed and these dont... which made me upset more is a visual novel company closed down only a few months ago now to...

The Site you have down for the Kanon patch no longer has it up. (I did manage to find one, but I just thought I'd let you know.)

I still want to know why CLANNAD, which has been out for a shorter time than AIR or Kanon, has had more done on it than the other two combined. Seriously, 57% of Kanon. What do I do after that, start learning Japanese?

Well, I guess I can't complain, since Hongfire is an awesome site, and has been forever.

*Actually, is there a way (or do you know of a site that has info about) cracking into the text files for Kanon? Then you could at least do a Babelfish translation and pack it back up.

Oh, yeah, I forgot.
I can't link to the site where I finally found it, but if anyone needs a copy of the Kanon patch, I can bundle it and upload it somewhere.
