	I don't know about new, but my favorite anime, was,is, and will be for a long time, Elfen Lied. Though graphic, it has a unique and moving storyline. The art and scenery are beautiful as is the music that accompanies it. My favorite character is Lucy/Nyu, I can't really explain why without giving away plot points. My only gripe against the series is the length. The DVDs cover only one third of the manga (24 eps.) It hasen't been liscensed to be translated either (the manga). Those of you who would watch it, be warned it is rated M for graphic nudity (none is sex related) and gore.

It was an attempt to cross the deep convoluted plot of Neon Genesis with the the extreme animation of Fist of the North Star and Violence Jack... in the end it was a mess of a series that didn't know if it was comming or going.
