If you agree that Charizard is the greatest pokemon in the world (kanto reigon mostly) then yes that is a good choice becaus didnt you see the episode when brock said that a charizard can beat mostly any pokemon in kanto?

Well Pokemon like Ninetailes have Flash Fire. A Blast Burn wouldn't do any damage.

A Charizard trained by me would easily be able to take out any other opposing Fire Types.

Considering Charizard's good stats, uber move set and large number of TMs it can learn; and it's the only non-legendary Fire/Flying type, it is definately one of the better, if not one of the best, Pokemon in the game. Charizard probably is my favorite of the starters, and I only stopped using mine(which is shiny) because I needed a Fighting type and my Blaziken needed some attention....

Infernape > Charizard > Typhoson > Blazekin

Infernape goes first for high Atk and Speed.

Charizard is definatly my favorite of all fire types, and comes pretty close for all-time favorite. (second only to Swellow. ^-^) They have awesome stats. However, Brock has been known to be wrong, so don't beleive everything he says.....But a well trained Charizard can take on any Pokemon.....

I think Charizard is overrated. Never underestimate Arcanine and Ninetales.
Rapidash isn't too bad, either, with 105 base Speed, 100 base Attack, and Hypnosis and Flare Blitz at its disposal. If its move variety was better, it would own everything.

that said, I do like Charizard, but that is mostly because it looks like a dragon.

charizard can learn rock tomb which can defeat fire types and also it can learn flyig moves. and finally charizard can use hyper beam

1. Grammar is your friend use it.
2. Rock Tomb sucks.
3. About 256 different Pokemon can learn Hyper Beam which its a terrible attack.

Well in the hands of Porygon-Z, it isn't.
Only because Porygon-Z has the highest Special Attack f any non-legendary Pokemon, and it gets a x2 damage modifier because it's a normal type

Charizard is not the greatest....There are many other Kanto fire pokemon out there who can beat Charizard...like Ninetales, Magmar, Arcanine...All have high agility strong attacks
