Collecting

There's so many different types of merchandise to buy pertaining to anime/manga, not to mention the anime/manga itself. So, what do you collect? Do you only buy things related to your favorite series, or are you interested in one particular type of merchandise, no matter what series it's from? Are you a plush junkie, or a poster collector, or perhaps action figures are your forte? Discuss. ^^

I, for one, like collecting my favorite manga, because then I can read through the whole series in one shot whenever I feel like it, instead of waiting to get it from the library. Plus, then I have bragging rights. xd Same goes for my favorite anime, though it's much harder as DVDs are not by any means cheap.

I love plushies, because they're soft and cuddly. I only have 5 so far, but I'm working on it. Another thing I've recently become obsessed with is collecting patches. I have 6 so far, and am currently working on sewing them onto a $10 pair of jeans from Wally World. I got the idea from an icon I found online that shows Vic Mignogna wearing a pair of jeans with a drawing of Ed Elric(one of the characters he voices, for those who don't already know) on them. And I was all, "I want Vic's pants!" But of course, I can't have them, because I'm sure he likes them. crying So, I'm making my own anime jeans. ^^

I'm not much of a "Collector" I did buy Tifa and Cloud with his motorcycle figures from FF7. I don't classify myself as a collector because (I think) it has been overused. I believe collecting means that someday what you bought will become valuable. Where as The stuff I buy will probably never become worth much. But that's just me.

Ah, but people collect rocks too, and I highly doubt those will ever be valuable... A collection is merely a gathering of similar items.

Well, then I just collect anime. I did get a plush Kiba from Wolf's Rain, but it came with the first disk and the box and the first soundtrack.

and it really depends on the rochs, now woudldn't it.

i dont got much just some anime and manga if i did id own a lot more than stuff... but this halloween me and some family are dressing as character if that counts.

I would I'm definitely a collector lol. I like reading books so I have probably 800 books or more. That doesn't include the over 300 manga books I have. I also have a decent pile of anime dvds. I usually like to get the mangas along with the anime, tends to flesh out the story more. In some cases it tells more of the story like Kare Kano.

I do have some anime soundtracks, not alot but some. I also have figures, wallscrolls, Haruhi in her black bunny suit's sitting on my computer desk smile I might get a bigger version though, not sure.

Wow... See, I've only been watching anime for about three years, and only been really 'into' it for the past year and a half or so... I'm so behind! xd

Other than anime (I'm somewhere in the range of 250+ DVDs) I collect anything Ah! My Goddess related.

I have all the manga thus far, the original OVA, all the new DVDs, the only thing I think I'm missing is one of the action figures (Peorth if I remember corectly)

I'm more on collecting posters and pics
But I also collect any kind of merchandise from the series Death Note!

I don't know about collecting but other than DVDs I have a couple of Gundam model kit and the reason I bought them was to kill some time, I also have car models that I bought for the same reason so if it is collecting you will be the judge of that
