...says Gerard Way. It's in this article. right Here. It was pretty blunt of him, but then again, I think he's just trying to make himself loud and clear. Which is great. I hate when people claim a band is one when it's not, especially since this emo thing, which is really old, gives them negative attention.
So anyways, just an article for you to check out if you haven't already.

I don't get it either. Why would you not like him for doing that? I don't see anything wrong with it...
Anyways, this huge MCR emo thing is just getting waaaaaaaay out of control. I'm just going
to ignore the next person who calls me and my friend emo when we wear our MCR shirts to school.

The "emo" music these days, or atleast quite a lot of it, is pretty pathetic, at least in my opinion.
But relating this all to what Gerard said, yes, that was really blunt of him, but he is probably fed up by all this, and I've seen him make claims about how they're not emo, and yet, people, including magazines and such, still claim they are. I don't know. Next thing you know you'll see headlines like "MCR get's EMOtional about being called 'EMO'". This stupid label will stick with them, but why?

I'm glad he did this. After calmly telling everyone, fans, haters, media, magazines, everyone that they weren't emo, he needed to be blunt to get this message across. With all the annoying labels that are going on now, it's about time someone made a public statement about it. Go Gee!
