Okay, my friend just told me that last night her brother committed suicide while they were talking on the phone, and she turned to me for support. I don't know what to say without sounding like a d**k, so I need some help. How do I make her feel comfortable?
And no, I'm not lying. If you think I am, flame this thread all you want.

There isnt really anything you can say other than you are sorry. Just offer a shoulder to cry on and tell her that you are there for her to talk to. I wouldnt suggest getting any more involved or opinionated than that.

Derek: If you're going to post, post something of worth.
Ionic: Really all you can do is offer an ear to bend, a shoulder to cry on, and a torso to hold. Not a lot, I know...but you'd be surprised at how much the smaller things really matter.
