~Blood for Eggs?~
I saw it hidden there - within the colors brought by spring -
Within that lustrous green, armed and threatening.
That colored oval - which housed the treats I sought -
I reached for it full of joy, but not a second thought.

A strange sensation compelled me - to withdraw my fingers -
I stare at my hand, where one drop still lingers.
And suddenly I see the flow - caused by this hazerdous beauty -
Upon the brow, where it pierced a sacred entity.

I glimpse the broken flesh - being stung by painful wood -
I wonder, then I know, that He fully understood
What these three days - would soon become -
How it would remain clear, only to some.

I hear the call - of those tangible to me -
And am drawn away, from the One I can not see.
I grab my prize, and return to them with glee.
But, never will I forget - the price for my blissful eternity -
