So, I plan on going to the Star Trek convention in Vegas next year, and of course I want to dress up. Hoverever, since I've never been to a Star Trek convention (or any con for that reason, though I'll be going to Otakon soon) I was wondering if it's more normal/accepted to dress as a chacter, like most people at anime cons, or to go as your own character. Like, instead of going as Spock, you go as just some random Vulcan. I plan on going as a Vorta, in case you were wondering.
(Also, no DS9 season 7 spoilers please, I just started watching it. =])
Is anyone else planing on going to this con?
(Having a group would be awsome! XD)

i go every year to the vegas convention so here are the answers!

1. you can costume as anyone but people are normaly "crewman #6"

2. its acceptable but its more of your choice.

exactly. The neat thing about cons is that there's a wide variety of people there, some wear costumes, some don't.
Personally I'm going to the cons in Dallas and Houston next year as a random captain (janeway style uniform).
