So, I got to vote for the first time yesterday. Not telling anyone who I voted for, but it's only because I went the same way as my friend and they'll think I'm copying them, lol.

Alex Salmond is now my local MSP, and I'm waiting to find out which way it's going to land. (I have a feeling SNP will be dashed at the last minute)

It worries me greatly that if SNP get power, there will be a referendum and all the idiots, romantasicts and racist english-haters will vote for Scottish independance. gonk

People are just plain stupid aren't they?

Lib dems are waaay down on the list so they wouldn't have had a chance, and the chance of a conservative party in power in Scotland is laughable.

It's interesting at least, I watched quite a bit of the counting last night. Big scandal over all the "rejected" votes because people have been putting Xs where they should've been putting 1s and vice-versa. (tbh, if you can't work out a voting slip, you probably shouldn't be allowed the vote.... and you were probably going to vote Socialist, so you're vote would have been wasted anyway.)

Anyone else got summat to say? xd

Too young to vote by days but LibDem won. It's a LimDem strong hold.
Glad the SNP didn't get in, although we'll probably have a plenty SNP councilers. Their votes went up a lot this year, even in the areas which didn't have SNP winning have SNP coming in second or third.

The voting system seems to be a bit of a mess this year.

I found it quite simple, although to my shame I had no idea who any of the local councillors were, so just gave a vote based on their party.

Afterwards, I heard the independant woman standing was really good, and people were rooting for her, but I didn't even see her there. Oh well.

Damn. SNP won he Scottish elections.

SNP 47 (+20)
Labour 46 (-4)
Conservative 17 (-1)
LibDem 16 (-1)
Other 3 (-14)

It's a pity the small parties were hit so hard. Think a lot of tactical voting.
But 100000 spoilted ballot papers? In a country with 5 million people. Even assuming every man woman and child voted that would be a 2% spoilage.

It was my first time to vote too, which I was excited about because I've been waiting to vote for ages xp
Who I voted for didn't get in anyway, unfortunately.

No word of a coalition as yet, although apparently the Greens have agreed to make a deal with SNP!
