admit to being a poser...of stupidity...
you dont have to tell people they aren't got... if some people outwardly admit...when people come up to me to ask, "Are you goth?" I say "Yes, I'll rip your heart out." to keep them away... I dont usually care, but don't dog on people because they're posers..... they'll grow out of it

Veruniel And if this is what you have to say, you could have used your own words instead of lifting lyrics from Say Anything. Ha I knew those were lyrics and for all that come after me, "poser" is spelled poseur (sorry that just bugs me)

Yelling at someone because they aren't quite 'goth' won't really solve that problem. Sure I've seen those people who are like "I'm gonna try to be goth now. I'm gonna do this, this, this, and this." and wanted to slap them, but you just gotta tell them "Dude, the more you try to be something, the further away from being it you're gonna be."
Also, keep in mind your lyrics don't apply to EVERYONE who happens to stumble accross the page.
I forgot where I was going with this . . .

ketchakik i'm not trying to be anything......i am me... the me that i am is closely related to three groups (goths, punks, and rivetheads) so i refer to myself in those terms Exaclty, why does everyone have to conform to a label ... so what if I like "mainstream" goth clothes or clothes from C.D. or Tripp SO WHAT! I wear what i wear, read what i read, etc because it's what makes me feel comfortable and that i enjoy, what's the big deal with labels these days?

Shouldn't this be moved to the life issues subforum for being the whingefest of someone that can't understand the implications of being alive?

So posters, new game. Give me a reason not to lock this. It has mild potential for discussion, twice as much for turning into a "What is goth" flamewar. (Not to mention being a pain in the bum to decide where it goes since there are mild reasons for it to belong in other subfourms, hence it staying here)

Frankly, I say lock it, its already taking a downturn into flaming, and the creator just posted and ran. Then maybe stick it in spam.

Lock it, I say, because it doesn't seem to be raising a topic for discussion so much as making a pointless vague accusation (with song lyrics, not their own, even) and challenging people (who obviously could have nothing better to do) to answer it with concrete proof of the abstract (non-poseurdom). But...must you put it in Spam? The spam forum is friendly; this is not. And I don't just read about art in magazines, I skulk about in museums, thank you. mrgreen
