My goal = 1 sketch/thing per day.

Ummm. Hay.

I really want to improve. I know that if I actually took art classes I'd probably improve faster. lol

Art is a hobby for me.

Not a career choice or something like that.

Anyways, rip my art to shreds please. Redline to your hearts content. Critique as much as you want.

Keep in mind that the fingers bend in two places instead of one ^^
But hands are very boring, indeed... I also have a hard time with them. >P

Also, I think (and that's just personal opinion, but it might be helpful anyways) pencil&paper are the best tools to practice and sketch... tablets are great for painting, there's no doubt about it - but nothing can emulate the feel of the real materials... When I start a piece from scratch in the computer, I feel it lacks the 'soul' pencil sketches carry. ^^

Kep it up! heart

I`m feeling your pain aruiteru, hands are a pain to draw. But I think you got some pretty decent onces there. But as JuliaPegasus said, keep in mind that fingers bend in two places, not one. I don`t know about you but I feel it better to pratice hands by drawing off pictures take by cameras or your phone. Maybe this might help

I`m looking forward to see more of your art! wink

I'll keep that in mind and keep practicing!

I really do love drawing on pencil and paper. heart

But I have limited access to a scanner.

yeah, I agree what the previous 2 commenters. When I was starting to learn to draw hands I went to these 'how to draw anime!!" kind of tutorials and let me tell you that that was kind of a mistake. If you dont have a camera look around the internet for pictures of hands or just look at your own hand to learn what a hand is really like. There is no real shortcut to learning to draw properly.

I don't know if you're familiar with deviantART.com but you can find some great reference things there in the stock images.
