I have a few inspirations, Beethoven inspired piano for me, Najee and my father inspired flute playing for me, and Alicia keys inspired writing songs. (I would say singing but...I can't sing)

it depends [i always say that] but for classics would be Beethoven without a question. but I love Thom Yorke, he plays the guitar, keyboard and is the lead singer for Radiohead.

No matter how bad I want to name the many musicians who inspire me, I can not say there is one character that makes me go insane all though slash and zakk wylde and scott ian are close to it, none of them were people who inspired me to play it was the music that got me going not them as well they are my (guitar) heros but a lot of my music is inspired by almost any musician out there, if he has one good thing going for him.

For me, music came into my life when I was little: my mom used to play her 33s and 45s on the turn table, my dad always had the radio on in the garage, and whenever my mom went over to Hughie's house to clean it, I would always be bored...He was a Vietnam veteran who lived alone save for a friend of his who rented the upstairs to live in. There wasn't anything to do in this house, save for an old piano (that had an "A" key that was stuck and made a short staccato wail, reguardless of how hard you hit it), a harmonica, and Hughie's acoustic guitar...My interest in music kinda grew from a combination fo those occurrences. Later I started taking piano lessons when I was 8, Hughie was the original inspiration because he taught me how to play part of "Silver Bells" one December. I quit piano lessons two years into it because the place I took lessons from were like practice nazis, and hell, I was just a kid that still had the job of being a kid, I couldn't spend all of my elementary years practicing. I joined band in the sixth grade and chose to play flute. No one really inspired me to play the flute, I just kinda thought "ooh shiny! I'm gonna pick that one!", so it's a good thing I ended up enjoying it. I wouldn't trade my flute for another instrument in band. Then sometime in eighth grade I was watching Evanescence's "Anywhere But Home" concert DVD (I had seen it a few times before) and I kept paying attention to the songs where Amy played piano and sang, and I thought "Mrs. Parmenter teaches piano lessons, and I already know her, so I know what she's like..." Watching Amy play the piano reminded me how much I missed playing it myself. So I took up piano lessons again (and still take them to this day). Also, I started teaching myself to play guitar in the eighth grade (and am still doing so). My first inspirations to play the guitar were by Brad Whitford and Joe Perry (of Aerosmith). I have a very diverse musical taste and can listen to almost anything, so ther are a lot of different musical styles that have influenced me in many aspects too. I also got the guts to join choir this year. I did it. Teacher says I'm a tenor-alto. My main vocal inspiration was probably Steve Perry (from his solo career and his time in Journey), though I can not sing no where near his level, what inspires me is the passion, energy, and emotion that he can put into his singing. I have never though of my voice in high reguard, but I'm not pathetically horrible, I just feel bad when I can't get soemthing to sound the way I want it to. Overall, my musical roots are a mix of professional artists and people in my everyday life, some who have and some who have never picked up a musical instrument.
