I'm sure most Yaoi fans have seen other BL lovers referring to their favorite pairings using numbers instead of names.
For example, I've learned that SanzoxGoku from Saiyuki (one of my favorite pairings) is 3x9, or 39.

. . . So. Am I the only one out in the cold about this?
Where do the numbers come from!? From where were they drawn?!
Ahh!
Someone, please enlighten me.

I've never heard of that... maybe its refering to a character grid ... like a list of characters from a show Sanzo being third on the list and Goku being 9th ... other than that i cant really think of anyhting as numbers referring to people... where did you find that?

i know there's a number system for Gundam Wing fics, but that's all i've seen...

it might be that San also means 3, though i'm not sure if the 3 kanji is the one used in Sanzo... I dunno why Goku would be 9, though
