My friend did the background shading.
Do not be afraid to shade your work yourself; especially when you're learning. That way, you'll be able to measure how far you have to work on to be able to achieve the result you want.

mm?I usually reference off of herO: Its a lot easyer to shade when the shadings on a paper right next to meO: But okay I will shade more of my own work.

Hey there ^_^ As a general blanket statement I'd like to say Don't Reference from Other Artist's Work. At least not wholly. 90% of your referencing should come from life. Its fine to see how other people handle things and to learn from that, but all art styles are originally based in life so its best to learn from real life things. You risk picking up bad habits as well as good from other artists. Draw from life. Get a sketchbook and devote it solely to observed drawings. Fill a page of it with lifedrawing at least once a week. The observations you make will carry over to your stylized work and things like anatomy and shading will begin to work out better for you. Because you'll -know- firsthand.
I hope to see much work from you ^_^ And many Welcomes to the boards.
