The anime ended on hiatus but the manga's still going. I think it's over 500 chapters now.

If they were to make an ending, Kagome would have to give up the Jewel Shard and leave it in Inuyasha's world. Without the Jewel, she wouldn't be able to go back.

Yea the anime was canceled so there's no ending
The manga, from my understanding, is getting close to the end
I've read a bit about what happens and it makes me want them to continue the anime
the biggest being *spoiler, highlight to read*:

There is no ending. Just like there was no real ending for Ranma 1/2 either in the anime or the manga. Rumiko Takahashi is bad about that. I'm told they will be bringing it back (the anime) in the next year or so and they will continue where they left off so that hopefully it can have an ending. But that remains to be seen.

Well the manga is finished so there is an end even if I never read it myself. I don't know how well the anime will do. I wonder if there is still an audience for it.

I.Love.Tiffany how does the inuyasha series end? It didn't end, it never ends like some immortal crappy thing of crappyness forever destined to be crappy.
