And by entities I refer to pretty much everything in the supernatural realm. Is there any certain way of knowing, even on a personal level, that you're not just letting your imagination run wild?
Ask them for some sort of proof. Something substantial.

Eg. "Are you really a dragon?"
RAWR BURN FLAME DEATH.
Then it was probably a dragon.

Isn't it a bad thing to tell your gods to ******** off? ninja Maybe I'm just missing some important information.
Depends on the gods.

I tell a lot of gods to ******** off. My experience has had the range from "That's nice Sweety, now that you're done making a fool of yourself... ~THWAP~ LISTEN UP!" to them taking a hike.

My deities know me before they approach me. They know what they are in for and they know how to deal with it.

Other deities I have interacted with- Odin included have laughed their a** off, asked me why I thought I could treat them like that, and upon hearing my explination, met me somewhere on middle ground.

Oh... the joy that is being LHP.

Fair enough.

Question and Test them.

There is something to be said for an overwhelming feeling of Gnosis.

Like I said- depends on the being in question. I tend to work somewhere between "Yeah? Prove it!" to "Like hell you are who you say you are! ~weapon leveled at being~" to actual research. To borrow an example from my dear Brother- if the Morrigan came and said she was a goddess of light and love- if it isn't her- she's getting tossed out on her arse. If it is her- she would expect him to draw a blade and get ready to trounce her.

Question: How does one actually go about obtaining Gnosis? I know what it is, but I haven't really seen anything on how to enter this state, if there are any clear cut methods.

Is their coverage of the term correct, or full of fluffy poop?

They cover multiple, valid usages I've seen elsewhere. Man, there was this one podcast I listened to that explained the distinction in a way different from here though, but my brain is farting on me right now... gonk All I remember is that the distinction had nothing to do with one being "good" and the other being "evil" ...

One extent or another. I cover my morality in my PathWay's thread.
