cyanide_xxx Yes, Mikey had an emotional breakdown, and he actually ended up going away for a few days to think it over, which cause the rest of the band to almost split up. Mikey had decided to drop out, but the rest of them tried to keep his spirit up, and eventually he ended joining back up. The reason for his emotional breakdown is because he was getting married soon, Gerard was having the worst tremors during the night and would scream, and Mikey would severly feel his pain, he felt that they weren't going to get anywhere with the new album, and etc, etc. MCR are still together, and Mikey said he never wanted to make the mistake again of quitting, because he knew the band would need him.
Hope that helped. <3

In Blender Mag, Mikey left and had to see some doctors four times a week and he was diagnosed with depression. Mikey said from the article that its 'very close to bipolar' takes some pills for it 'for now.'
Then the guys were angry over him having to leave but Mikey would just break down into tears and zone out from practice but Ray and Gerard one night started just working on writing a song and it became 'Famous Last Words'. The article included that 'Gerard poured all of his anxieties --about his band about his career and his borther's health into a powerful and surprisingly direct refrain: "I am not afraid to keep on living." Ray said that "Gerard looked deafeated but then he picked up a guitar and we started writing and suddenly we know thing things were going to be ok."
Awww so that's all or most of what happened. Poor Mikey.
I would type the article out but its three pages long. Lot a typing! @_@ Dunno why I post. Skip over what I've typed out from a magazine but pretty much repeat what I said.

Listen to Sleep.
The recordings in the beginning are Gerard speaking about how he had night tremors when recording in the Paramour. He felt as though someone or something was strangling him in the middle of the night and he had vivid images of his friends and family dying horrible deaths.

Ok so I'll start off by saying, Anyone who doesn't have a SE of their cd...get it. Theres no extra tracks, but the booklet inside is awesome and explains sooooo many things.
Ok for the song Sleep (not sure who said it but) Yes the begining of the song was a recording when gerard was explaining about the tremors. I believe the recording was actually recorded in what the band called the "Heavy Room". Their attorney Stacy Fass gave them this idea where they could sit and talk about everything.
Also of course other band member were going through hard times:
"One night it was around 4 A.M., and I heard Ray playing "Bark At The Moon" at max volume in the living room. Ray was always playing really late at this point and it would break my heart, because it sounded like he was fighting with his guitar, frustrated that he couldn't play our songs." -Gerard Way
The next day they started working on "House of Wolves"

Yeah, Mikey had a breakdown and nearly quit the band for good. He was also suicidal. Poor Mikey. crying
I have the limited edition. It's so cool and spooky about the opening of Sleep. Not cool that Gerard had nightmares, of course, but how he used the tape.

Mikey had a very depressed stage. He limited himself to playing shows and then going right back to his bunk in the tourbus. This went on for awhile and then the band showed up at the Paramour to do some recording. By that time, Mikey was so depressed that he figured he had two options: (1)Leave the band or (2)Suicide. Mikey chose to leave the Paramour and stay with someone else while going to therapy. He still was part of the band and he went back to the Paramour, but didn't stay the night. This took a toll on Gerard and caused Gerard to pace the hallways at night, get little sleep, and have terrible nightmares. Gerard voiced these nightmares into a tape recorder and bits of these recordings are used on the song "Sleep" which was inspired from Gerard's nightmares. Mikey eventually rejoined the band and is doing better now that he got help and took that break.
