I've read many of the books written by laurence yep who is a chinese fiction novelist who's written many great books. if you've read any of them tell what you thought of them if haven't read any, get to your nearest library and get crackin' if you've read them all go find another great asian writer and read all his/her books two

because it's about time we got truly serious about asian pride.

Mm, I've never heard of him actually. >_< I'll definitely look into him though. :3

I think the only Asian writer that I've read something from is Amy Tan, who wrote The Joy Luck Club and some other books.

Some books and essays that I have read are by Gish Jen, Carmen Navarro Pedrosa, Amy Tan, and Adeline Yen Mah.

There aren't many Asian writers when you try to sort them. Didn't Amy Tan in her essay "Mother Tongue" once say that most Western teachers had advised Asian students to go towards math and engineering rather than literature? (perhaps looking up the essay "Mother Tongue" would help.)

Laurence Yep. I knew that name sounded familiar! I've read two of his books, Child of the Owl and Dragonwings. I'm actually glad you reminded me about him because for the longest time, I couldn't remember the name of those two novels and I really did enjoy them.

So even if I engraved the meaning that I lived in my hand, the petals will just scatter as flowers of vanity. . .

i really haven't heard of any of those mentioned above but ive read books by The Dalai Lama. if you have any sort of problems or just want to improve your life for whatever reasons, then check his books out..
if you're a buddhist, you'll be able to relate or understand better i think...
