I think I'd spend more time observing, and occasionally nudging with
advice or insight.

The danger of just solving everyone's problems, I think, has been
highlighted in the shows. So, I'd let them solve their own problems,
occasionally dropping a hint.

And eventually I'd have to leave anywhere because the urge to tamper
would be too strong.

I'd probably be benevolent(Malevolant, as you listed, is actually evil), and give everyone a better life. Crush Evil. The Enterprise is at 10% Shields, core ready to breach, snap my fingers, and give 'em another round on 'the house' ^_^

Q- John DeLancey I would have to say he is the only Q I know of realy well he is sooooo funny. I have not heard of the others crying . I would have to say the funnest thing Q (John) has ever said would be this:
Picard~"Q, what is going on?"
Q~"I told you. You're dead, this is the afterlife, and I'm God."
Picard~"You are not God!"
Q~"Blasphemy! You're lucky I don't cast you out or smite you.......or something."

I would settle somewhere to observe planets. I don't think I'll be malevolent, but the urge to play a bit with other beings would catch me from time to time. A bit less dangerous that Q, but not as useless as Quinn (was that the name he choses during his time in the Voyager, right?)

And you forgot to mention the other Q I like... Amanda Rogers.

I would probably end up wanting to be like Quinn. Omnipotency just isn't for me, though if I could rescind my powers for a mortal life, I'm not sure I'd end it as quickly as he did.
