At first I didn't understand why people would pair Gaara and Lee from Naruto together...I mean, I loved Lee, he had a great personality, but why pair wierd looking Lee with uber dark n' sexy Gaara. But then I read a fic just for the heck of it and it was actually pretty hot...and I realized that Lee was sexy in his own way, and as anyone who has seen the series can tell you, Gaara's life has had a definate lack of love, so a nice guy like Lee brightening up Gaara's life makes me happy. heart

I was a really big Digimon fan back in the day (Hell, I still am.) but I wasn't really open to the Taichi-Yamato pairing that all my friends were in love with. Then I read this one Taito fic, I can't remember the name or author but I know the storyline was based off the song "Lola" by the Kinks. I absolutely fell in love with it and Taito is one of my favorite couplings now. I just wish I could find it again.

A friend recommended a fanfic to me on ff.net(can't remember which one it was!) which had the Domeki/Watanuki pairin from XXXHolic, and i wasnt interested at the time, but it really got me into that pairing. Now i love them! Otherwise, i havent read any fanfics for pairngs i hate just because!
