Coming out about Yaoi

My friend got me hooked on it when we were very young. o.o; First I was like... This is our secret. And we roleplay over the phone every night, and yes, Yaoi is very, very involved... Awesome-fun.

I don't care, now, if my friends know I like yaoi, because most of them do too.

About my family. We're tight-knit in this little house. Me, my parents, and my brother. Now my brother is Autistic, so he doesn't care. My mom, very recently, walked up behind me while I was looking at some yaoi the aforementioned friend sent me. >.> <.< She was all "That's hot." I like... froze. But she likes it! She's obsessed now! At first it was a big secret from dad. My dad is very churchy. He works at churches as the music director. Very religious. So we were like "He's gonna make us go to confession or do some kind of intervention" But I told him while he was drunk, and he seems to be ok. o.o;

Hehe, I'm not even actually out of the closet yet. Ah, but once I tell my parents I'm bisexual, then I doubt the random BL manga hidden in the corners of the room will be an issue, really. As well as the slash fanart in my sketchpad and the epic amounts of fanfic and short stories with obvious gheeeey in them.

My parents are pretty cool, but I still have supreme fear over how they're going to react. It's completely irrational. Maybe I'll tell them when they get back from London?

I'm shy to begin with, so I never really said anything about. My boyfriend knew I was into yaoi and told a friend about it, it turn out that she was into it too. She asked me what yaoi I was into, what I was reading and that sites that I liked and what not. So I never was in the yaoi closet it begin with, because no one let me be there. But now all my friends know and my family know and they don't really care about it.

I wasn't always open about it until my best friend discovered my obsession wiht puppyshipping. She was like-- 'WTF!?!?!? You made Joey GAY!?!?!?!?' I was laughing my head off for weeks. But I got her into it, also. ^_^I don't know about my other friends, one of my friends who's a guy know we like it, and another friend know I like it also, but that's about it, I think. My family has no idea what it is or that I like it, and coming out about anything isn't my strong point. xD
My mom probably knows about my obsession because she looks at all my videos on Youtube, and Yaoi makes up a good bit of them.

One of my friends likes Yaoi, and Two of my friend know I like it and we all still hang out . One of my friends reads the yaoi fanfics I write!^^
Which is really nice of her. But me and my friend write fanfics together. So everyone's pretty ok wiht it.

Only a couple of my friends know that I like it and when I said I like yaoi their reaction was, ''wtf is yaoi?'' Then I tell them and their all. D: And I'm all ^^;..... yup.

Well when my mother's idoit husband (he's a homophobe) asked about my shirt the conversation went:

"What's that say?"

"I heart Yaoi..."

"What's Yaoi?"

"umm a type of Anime..or Manga.. I guess.."

"What type?"

"I really don't want to get into this John..."

"come on what type"

*after 3 or 4 minutes of him badgering me*

"fine. It's boy/ boy love"

"That's Disgusting!"

Oh I know! It was funny cause my step sister knew what it was and she was just giggle fitting the whole time. My mom is blissfully unaware and I doubt her husband has the guts to tell her.

xDDD My mom'd probably just drop it at ''a type of anime and manga I guess'' and then go look it up on the internet and then confront me about it saying ''honey I think you should stop with this whole yaoi thing'' xDDD Then she'd get all worked up in spite of her self and say that if I don't throw out the shirt right away I'm grounded and she'll throw it away. She's so wierd.

If my mom found out she will make sure im dead before my dogs are T^T i told my friends i like yaoi and tey said what is that and i said guy/guy love and ther all like ewww and im all like oh say what you whant about it its not changing my way about it!! and they said dont worry we all have secrets and you told your depest one and so we wont tell anyone friends you can trust parents are like DIE !! i whant to tell people i luv it but i am im locked inside the yaoi closet with 5 locks on it and i whont come out until i am ...16!!! Only the friends that are into it too know about it. My family and my very best friend don't know. My friend is a homophobe and I don't feel like I could tell her. I'm not sure how my parents would react so I haven't even hinted at it. I almost freaked out when my dad looked at the description of loveless. Fortunately it didn't say anything in that respect. I mean Loveless is very very light and it focuses on the plot not the romance, I got freaked out over something like that then I know I don't have the guts to tell them.

First off, my parents dont know what Yaoi is, and even so they ordered me a Yaoi bag back then when i was on middle school.
Other than that, all my friends know im addicted to gay porn and yaoi.

My mom and dad know that I read Yaoi and Boys Love and they are fine with it. Heck once when I went to pick-up a special ordered copy of Skyscrapers Of Oz my mom was with me and she didn't say anything when she saw the parental label on the book. When I got done paying for it she told me that she was happy that I got the book I wanted and I agreed with her too. Another time she bought me a Yaoi manga called Golden Cain which really made me happy too. One other time I can think of is that she picked-up my special ordered copy of Only The Ring Finger Knows for me since I wasnt able to go with her and I made sure to thank her too. My dad is fine with it heck he has an open mind about people who are gay and he doesnt have a problem with it. I remember once when I went to an anime convention called Realm Con I bought a Yaoi my antidrug shirt and me my mom asked me what Yaoi was so I told her it is a genre of manga that involves two men together in a romantic relationship and she said ok. My brother doesnt know what Yaoi is and I would rather not tell him but at least he knows that I find some gay guys cute and he doesnt care.

I tell people 'm a yaoi fan. Except when an elitist or snob corners me before I can even talk about it.

Like the first thing they say after I ask them if they like anime is "yeah, but I hate yaoi and blah blah blah, hate hate hate, flame flame flame......."

And they get so aggressive about it you get too intimidated to admit that you're a fan
