Just thought I'd let you Brits know that I absolutely adore your sense of humour and your mannerisms of speach. I'm American myself ((unfortunately!)) but I can pretend I'm British...right? Actually, all of my heritage is British ((mostly Irish with a bit of Scottish and English))...

Idiosynkratikal: Heheh, can we all pretend? I mean, my pretend-English accent is absolutely horrible, but I'd like to go around online pretending I'm British. I'll start talking about that bloke I met on the lift heading up to my flat on December third, who turned out to be a total prat.

And Invictus, Canada will just keep getting better and better as you learn, I'm telling you.

I don't want to sound pedantic, but 'British' is a political term that refers to citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, so if your Irish relatives were from the Republic of Ireland then they weren't British.
