XGambit I like many british bands my friend is hugie indie kid and gets a lot of bands from all over. The Streets (Michael Skinner) is good. What kinda British bands do you like? Skinner is a good lyricist, I'll give him that but I don't really like the music myself, it's a little too repetitive and unimaginative for me

In strict confidence is one of my favorites - it resides on my profile.

URGH! People need to read the first post of a thread before replying. scream This is about people's close-mindedness to foreign bands, not a listing of favourites. stare

I listen to Rammstein, HIM, Type O Negative, t.A.T.u., and some songs sung in Spanish, Japanese...I know I'm forgetting a lot. But yeah, some of my friends don't get it, and my family of course thinks I'm nuts and it's a waste of time, but they think that about..all my music pretty much.

Macabre_Cogitation mortsanglant miraridemon Sounds like he got PWNED. I listen to A LOT of foreign music. Mostly German. And NOT Rammstein. But not right now. Right now I'm listening to Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag. LULZ. got a problem with Rammstein? stare I am seconding that question as welll... I went through an industrial rock and Rammstein phase. But then I took the time to learn their lyrics. Not as cool after that. I do respect them though, their live shows look killer, and I think their basist was it? I don't know, is the second farthest firebreather in the world, next to Gene Simmons, I've heard, but I could be wrong. Nothing wrong with Rammstein, I just don't like them anymore, I'd listen to them, but I don't take the initiative to do so.

I discovered some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard today.
I'm so amazed. Especially that I've never heard of this group... *Must Kill Friends Who Didn't Tell Me ARGH* I ran across it completely by accident, thinking that it was a song by a different foreign band (the UK band Inkubus Sukkubus), when in actuality it wasn't them at all... I figured it wasn't, but the song was mislabeled. Luckily I discovered who made the song. It was a group called Sopor Aeternus. OMG Check it out. You must. I am a lyricwhore but most of the songs that I like by them are completely instrumental, and I like it. I'm so surprised. Pleasantly so.
Anyway, if you like metal and you kinda like opera sometimes (like Phantom and such), and you like Lacuna Coil (they're from Italy), you must check out Nightwish. They're awesome.

Macabre_Cogitation zz1000zz And then there is Mexican music. That stuff needs to burn. NNOOOOOOOO!!! That stuff is hilarious! Go around driving blaring it as loud as your stero can go, you get some of the funniest looks. that IS hilarious and i believe it! after a while it can get a bit annoying though, no offense to anyone....

yes i agree people can be close-minded and it is a bit annoying. i personally love foreign music, mainly because i can't understand it. this way i really get to appreciate the sound. (additionally instrumentals are good, i love solos. more music at its best ^.^) most people, i feel, don't care for such beauty because they fear the unknown and it is a bit sad. no one really knows what life has stored (except death, that is)
