I don't know that I have a 'one book.' Most of the ones I currently have contain parts that make me cringe. Love primary texts, though. I'd like to find a good annotated copy of the Mabinogion.

Have you looked over Sacred-Texts.com?
I have indeed, and they've always been pretty good, but I still prefer a good paper copy, especially since I'm trying to lower my sad internet dependence. But the whole Sacred Texts collection is pretty droolworthy and has covered my rear on some research papers too.

Ah, but at least you can select the books that interest, make a list of publishers and go from there.

I won't read any books on wicca, inner or outter court because I'm not wiccan or eclectic pagan. I'm Hellenic Polytheist and read Homer and Hesiod and Plato.
