Suzaku's story begins in Singapore with his parents, Chéng Xù and Kimberley Roberts. It was a modern love story without the love. They met casually at a bar at a promotion celebration for his father, shared one night in a hotel room, and were suddenly tied together when Suzaku was conceived. Their marriage was not a good or happy one; they hated each other. It was rare for Suzaku to have both his parents in one room for more than meals and when they were, not a word was shared between them. Thankfully, with his father having a journalism career that required him to be gone most days and his mother working from home as a freelance artist, they didn't need to spend a lot of time together. They could coexist as present, active parents in Suzaku's life without needing to put up with each other more than necessary.
But, one day, his already rocky childhood crumbled. To this day, Suzaku doesn't recall the details in their entirety. All he remembers is his father being dragged away while both his parents insisted, "He is human." It was the last time he ever saw or heard from his father and it wasn't until he was thirteen that he was told what happened. Chéng Xù wasn't a journalist; he was an activist. He'd been fighting against the growing magikal oppression for himself and, more importantly, his son. The last protest he attended, while meant to be peaceful, turned violent and he was, unfortunately, one of the few faces that could be proven to have been attendance. The first and only time he'd ever seen his parents agree on something was lying to the authorities about Suzaku's status as a magikal.
After his father was taken, Kimberley needed to get Suzaku out of Singapore before it became too dangerous for him. Fortunately for them, she had plenty of friends who were willing to help. The most notable of these friends being Hideshi Aizen who, as Suzaku would later learn, had been having an affair with his mother. With Hideshi's help, Suzaku and his mother were able to safely leave Singapore and return to her hometown of Thorpes, Manshire. The process involved a quick, private wedding and some secretive legal tinkering to change his and his mother's names to all but erase their connection to Chéng Xù. It just so happened that Hideshi was in the perfect position to pull it all of; the Aizen family is one of the more influential families in Japan with their money in the right pockets. From there, his life pieced itself back together. Kimberley and Hideshi have an incredibly healthy relationship and Suzaku, despite the disapproval of Hideshi's family, has only ever been treated as his son. That isn't to say it was a perfect happily-ever-after, though.
For the next couple of years after finding out what happened to Chéng Xù, Suzaku was angry and rebellious; downright aggressive, at least towards Hideshi. It was during this period in his life that he met his ex-girlfriend, Reika, and became a dad at fifteen. Holding his daughter for the first time is what made him realize how stupid he'd been but, thankfully, his parents never gave up on him. With their help, he and Reika were able to make teenage parenthood work and even now, they're his most reliable support system. Especially with Reika being away for university.

▪ Suzaku owns exactly 243 pairs of wristbands. Some are store-bought while others are customized from online sources. He's always looking to add to his collection.
▪ When he was little and still lived in Singapore with his biological parents, they had a cat named Booboo. Kimberley loves to tell the story of when Suzaku insisted on marrying Booboo. They even had a little ceremony! Suzaku has a portrait of the "wedding" hanging in his condo.
▪ Suzaku is bisexual. This isn't a secret. He's open about it.
▪ There is only one thing about this entire fake life arrangement that Suzaku regrets and that's losing contact with his paternal grandmother. Sadly, she passed away when he was fourteen (contributing to his anger) and he never got to say goodbye or attend her funeral.
▪ He developed the habit of humming or quietly singing Single Ladies while focused on something like homework or a chore. Don't ask him how or why he has this habit; he doesn't know. It's just something he's always done.

❥ Haruhi is a vegetarian. She doesn't care if someone eats meat around her, but she won't even touch it herself. She also doesn't like greasy food that much or pizza, but if she has to eat it, she will.
❥ She hates skirts and dresses; jeans, shorts, tanks, and hoodies are her choice of fashion. Just like Daddy!
❥ Collects pretty stones and keeps them in a box under her bed.
❥ Gets really possessive of Suzaku if a woman flirts with him. She's the only girl that he should be paying attention to. Her mom and grandma don't count; family is family.
❥ Haruhi typically likes to play the "man's" role during pretend. Knight, cop, etc.; stuff her in the traditionally womanly role and she'll botch it intentionally. Related to this, Haruhi wants to be a cop when she grows up.
❥ Sometimes her friends' parents and some of the older people in town will say bad things about her parents. It upsets her greatly.
❥ The human genetics are strong in this one. Despite having a magikal for a dad and grandfather, Haruhi is neither a magikal nor an arcane; her mom and grandma's genes won with her.
