Physical Description: A tall and muscular specimen of a woman, Miomellai is careful to keep herself in peak physical condition. She has bronze skin and keeps her brown hair cropped extremely short so it stays out of her way. With dark eyes and a strong jaw, her physical appearance is quite fierce indeed.
Personality: Once Miomellai has the bit between her teeth, she refuses to be swayed. Nothing is impossible if someone works hard and sets their mind to it. If there’s a problem, she’ll keep picking and poking from different angles until she solves it, one way or another. She is not a person who is easily deterred. As a result, Miomellai chooses to reach for the stars. Why limit herself when she knows she can be so much more? Now that she’s chosen to step out from under her father’s patronizing gaze, the world is hers for the taking. You better not get in her way.
She’s quick to become defensive and lash out if she feels she’s being belittled, and the ferocity of her responses might take some aback. Even those who might be trying to offer helpful critique might get snapped at if she misinterprets their intentions, for she’s quick to assume the worst. Miomellai is also an incredibly envious person, often looking at other people’s accomplishments with no small amount of jealousy. She wants to be the one in the spotlight, and those who seem to be naturally talented or constantly the star of the hour will have her gritting her teeth.
Miomellai is not the sort of person who’s satisfied with doing a good job just for the sake of it. She wants to be noticed and praised for her actions, and will deliberately seek out larger opportunities for the sake of proving just how capable she really is. She’s prone to showing off, especially when she knows important people are watching. Due to this, Miomellai is reliable in a pinch and can be expected to go above and beyond when given a job she can really sink her teeth into.

History: The 5th born of 8 children, Miomellai already had the odds stacked against her, in her family. Her father was a skilled mercenary and expected his sons to follow in his footsteps, but the girls? Women were not meant to be warriors. Miomellai took great offense to this and threw herself into the lifestyle, determined to compete against her brothers and prove her worth. Men could be violent creatures, her father warned, and she would never be as strong as one. Miomellai also took that as a personal slight and trained hard to prove she could be just as capable as her brothers, if not more so. Though she would never grow as large as some of her brothers, Miomellai was quick, cunning, and knew how to fight dirty.
The return of Thread, while unexpected and deadly, also opened up plenty of opportunities for work. As she grew older and stronger, her father eventually began to take her along on jobs with him….but not if he expected there to be hired men in opposition. They were small, safe jobs, and though it was never said out loud, Miomellai knew they were jobs that he felt were safe enough--for a woman.
As her brothers gained experience and notoriety, she could only watch them with no small amount of bitterness and envy. None of them expected a dragon to come riding in Search for High Reaches--nor for it to show interest in both her and her older brother, Midrymear. Her father’s thoughts? Ladies weren’t dragonriders. That was all the reason she needed to throw herself at the opportunity, sick and tired to death of being limited for something as stupid as her gender.
