Physical Description: K’ent is a moderately tall man with squared shoulders. It would cut an intimidating portrait if he wasn’t so skinny. There’s a fair amount of muscle under his leanness. He has a square jaw that he keeps nice and clean shaven. His nose is small and button shaped - there is a healed lump in the middle where it had been broken then healed in his youth. K’ent has a fringe of sandy-blonde hair that gets lighter in the sunnier seasons, it has a slight wave to it and looks terribly scruffy when he’s been in ocean water. It’s grown a bit too long for his tastes and keeps it tied in a short poof of a ponytail for flying. His eyes are a shade of stormy grayblue under thin, delicate brows.

K’ent is terribly vain, taking care to have the most fashionable of most things. Some of his old jewelcrafting projects are worn when he feels the need to dress sharp. He is particularly fond of wearing earthy green (to match his dragon of course)and flowing scarves. He is very particular about keeping up with fashions and trends, and should probably spend his energy on more “important” things - but it makes him happy.

Personality: K’ent, beyond all things, values good communication. To the more introverted folks in the Western it probably it seems like he’s just mouthy. With such a gregarious nature he feels the need to constantly be chattering. Sometimes he’s commenting on things that better have been left unsaid. Buttoning his lip is a skill he’s tried (and slightly improved) - but it doesn’t mean he always remembers to do so. He thrives when he’s with others that he can brush elbows and have a fantastic conversation with. It makes him feel secure with his place in the world. Even when he’s at his illest and bundled up in the infirmary he’d love a revolving door of company to make him feel better. His energy is focused outwards and loves to be involved with his friends lives. This can be terribly, terribly overbearing for those who aren’t as social in kind. He’s lost more than a few good friends with his version of being a caring and involved friend.

K’ent is a confident soul. He’s energetic, seeking out new things to do constantly. He throws himself into wingdrills and takes odd jobs constantly. Sitting down and relaxing is for when you’re threadscored in his mind, he’s content to just be on the go - go - go. He rarely burns out, save for illness or terrible weather when he wants to laze about and complain (as long as someone can hear him complain).

He’s by no means superficial when it comes to his caring. He’s quick to speak up for someone who might be too nervous - or do his best to bring focus to someone whose lost the attention when their trying to tell a story. He’s incredibly socially aware, and what is Weyr life but social? He’s a shoulder to cry on and someone to genuinely share laughter with. He’s particularly intuitive when it comes to reading expressions and tones. If someone’s having an off day he’s there with a gentle word or an opportunity for them to vent. This isn't everyone's preferred way of dealing with this, and he's been shooed off more than once. Who wants alone time to deal with things? Sounds weird to him.

He’s not particularly conflict avoidant. When a large, passionate personality clashes with another, he sees it as almost a game. A pageantry of with the most words - the most energy “wins”. He certainly won’t back down until someone steps in and tells him to cool it - or the other party concedes. It's a terrible habit of his that causes problems and fights to go on longer than he should, and just more hurt feelings. He rarely blusters or yells with this, unless a friend is in need of some sort of a white knight then he forgets himself in anger.

K’ent is resilient and never afraid to go outside of his comfort zone, he’s not sensitive when it comes to criticism. If someone dislikes him, that’s their business. He’s comfortable with his sense of self, thank you very much. And he surely has enough friends, its not as though he’s missing out.

History:

K’ent was born to a jewelcrafter father and a baker mother. He was a middle child of a gaggle of children. He spent most of his time amongst the hold children, teaching the best the games and leading attacks in very serious battles with thrown mud and fruit pits. He was a constantly dirty child thriving on playing outdoors. He did fair in his lessons, and took concentrated much of his energy into beginning to learn jewelcrafting from his father. He didn’t quite have the patience for baking as his mother did, unless taste testing pastries becomes an official craft sometime. When searched, perhaps it was his enthusiasm that the dragon had felt so compelling in him.

K’ent impressed at 14 turns, at what was his first Hatching. He was remarkably lost, hanging around a gaggle of the friendliest faces. Hearing that sometimes that it takes ages to impressed to a dragon - if at all - he was braced to be a candidate for quite a while and started to find his pack. Cyxiiryniadrith however had other plans. A queen in green hide confidently chose him, nudging him and proclaiming they were in each others in a most sonorous voice.

Oh, but that was ages ago. One of K’ents most soft memories. He and Cyxiiryniadrith completed weyrling lessons with complete enthusiasm. He had taken to jewelcrafting at Telgar Smithcraft Hall for many years, learning to make beautiful trinkets. K’ent has a fondness for making jeweled metal headpieces, he’s a bit too masculine to make one work, but he loves the swirling beautiful patterns akin to Cyxiiryniadrith’s hide.

K’ent has loved - lost - and chased away his fair share of suitors over the years. He knows he’s a bit… much, and defends himself from heartbreak by being noncommittal. Cyxiiryniadrith is horrible, wretched about it really. She is constantly trying to nudge at him at his crushes! Her romantic, moony heart really just worries about his happiness.

K’ent has come back to Western as many other riders have, with the threat of thread hanging over head. He had lost a few family members, more friends than he cares to count lost from Thread. He does his best to keep a tight lid on that hurt. It drove him to laying down his crafting tools for the greater defense of Pern, with an enormous amount of guilt. Perhaps if he had been at the Weyr to begin with… the volley of what-ifs. It has given him a greater determination to protect those he loves. Thread doesn’t stand a chance with these too in the sky - when flame fails maybe they can talk it to death.


Other: Has a brown firelizard named To Whom it May Concern - or Concern. He has a habit of reading his letters aloud, and his flitter who was once name Shoal took that to be his name instead. He’s adorable, but no one ever said this firelizard was smart.

Name: Cyxiiryniadrith
Age: 19
Color: Green
Size: 28”
Physical Description: Cyxiiryniadrith is an elegant, well proportioned dragon. She is quite large for a green - but there is no bulk to her. She has sweeping headknobs that slightly curve backwards. Her head is slightly rounded at her eyeridges with a long muzzle.

She has a thin torso with lanky legs she keeps delicately tucked underneath her when sunning. Cyxiiryniadrith has very large wings, even when folded still spill from over her sides. They give her an extra amount of lift when she flies, she’s not one to tire quickly. Her tail is long and tapered, more akin to a whip. It gives her a little more advantage to quick turns. While her flame isn’t the hottest, she is maneuverable in the air and an asset to her wing.

Personality: She is a lady. She’s not for rough-housing or playing messy games with younger dragons. Cyxiiryniadrith certainly isn’t about to start and argument for the sake of being petty. However, she can and certainly will finish an argument with flourish. She’d rather kill anger with kindness, even if its a completely sarcastic way. Offering help to make someone look incompetent, a careful placed compliment with a barb buried underneath. Much like her rider, she knows the value of words and connections, using them in place of being brutish to get her way.

My, my is Cyxiiryniadrith romantic. This dragon has love on her mind constantly - and not for her! She is pushy when it comes to K’ent’s love life. She knows what company means to this young man, and she is one to comment constantly on his crushes. This is all to K’ent’s’ chagrin. It’s hard enough talking to someone he has feelings for without Cyxiiryniadrith being his own personal cheerleader. She’s moony, adoring terribly romantic stories - but never really worrying about a partners for her ledge. An infrequent riser, Cyxiiryniadrith is certain the right one to share her hearts will come with time.

Cyxiiryniadrith is vain. She keeps her self impeccably clean and oiled. She complains at just mud under her claws, refusing to sleep for the day until she is scrubbed. She pays particular attention in threadfall, to keep others safe (of course!) and so her hide won’t become marred by scars. It’s a reality that she accepts, but counts her blessings that she hasn’t be wounded too seriously thus far.
