Physical Description: Bitah stands at 5'8 and isn't terribly in shape, though she's not really out of it, either. A bit squishy around the middle, she is fairly strong and tries to keep herself conditioned to be able to get through a day without being totally exhausted. Dark brown hair is kept very short and on more than one occasion she's been mistaken for a man from behind because of it. She has grey-blue eyes, a round face, and is generally smiling about something. Her clothing is practical and it's a real battle to make her wear anything fancy, especially if it's a dress or skirt. She prefers cool colors and neutrals and if she ever wears any jewelry it's always silver.
Personality: First and foremost, Bitah is an introvert. She likes her alone time - needs it, even - and can be very drained after a long day around other people. While she can usually handle social interactions pretty well, anyone who knows her well can tell when she's reached her limit. She'll get very quiet and withdraw from the conversation, often distracting herself by talking with Phocath instead. That being said, Bitah is very friendly and gets along with just about everyone. She doesn't mind small talk and carries on conversations well when not over her limit of 'people time' in a day. She is quick to make friends and is careful not to step on any toes, not fond of the idea of people disliking her.
Curiosity is what drives Bitah from day to day. She loves to learn and find out new things, whether it's a new formation for drills or some random fact about fungus. She's not the best at remembering all of the things she reads or talks about, but she does enjoy the process of learning. Bitah loves to find out how things work and that helps her be less wary in new or dangerous situations. Often times when presented with something that might cause her or her dragon harm, Bitah is too worried to push them through. It did hold her back during her weyrling classes and her overly cautious ways were nearly fatal during their Between lessons. Now that's she older and familiar with fighting Thread it's less of an issue, but during their first few times fighting Phocath had to take more control as Bitah froze up.
Bitah loves making other people happy. She will go out of her way to lend a helping hand, to do a chore for someone, or to give her free time for a good cause. She enjoys spending time at the creche where her mother still oversees the kids, letting them play with Phocath as she used to do with her father's blue. Putting others needs before her own is second nature to her, though she does know when to stop and rarely over-exerts herself. That being said, one of Bitah's favorite passtimes is to simply do nothing. In the time before Thread she'd really thrived, having a bit of time each day to simply laze about and enjoy herself with Phocath. During the warm months they'd sunbathe together on the edge of their weyr and during the colder months she'd bundle up on her bed and read. Free time is less available now, but if there's a free minute to do absolutely nothing, Bitah will capitalize on it instantly. She puts off chores sometimes in favor of lounging around, enough so that one time she neglected taking care of her riding leathers so much that a strap snapped during training and left her dangling from Phocath's neck. She doesn't skimp on equipment care now.
One thing Bitah struggles with is making decisions. She prides herself in seeing both sides of an argument and finding the pros and cons of each situation or option she has...but that doesn't always lead to an obvious answer. During her Candidacy she'd gotten in trouble a few times for being unable to make a snap decision in the heat of an intense moment and even during some of her first Thread fights she couldn't decide if flaming or jumping Between would be more lucrative, leading to a few scars along her and Phocath's skin and hide. She's gotten better about making the call while fighting Thread, but down on land she's still just as indecisive as ever. Never ask her what she wants for dinner.
While she has trouble making decisions, Bitah is a realist when it comes to most things. She can find the silver lining in a bad situation but she can see how a perfect scenario can crash and burn. The cup isn't half full or half empty, just drink the damn water and get on with it. She doesn't live with her head in the clouds and isn't all doom and gloom, she floats somewhere in the middle, making the best of bad situations and not allowing herself to forget life isn't perfect. While she has a hard time making decisions, she usually ends up making the correct choice because of her realist way of thinking things through.

History: Bitah was born at High Reaches weyr to a dragonrider father and a creche worker mother. Life was good in her younger years as she played with the other kids that her mother oversaw, making friends easily and watching all the dragonriders with awe. She loved her father's blue dragon to bits and enjoyed climbing all over him when he and her father weren't drilling or doing chores. Seven Turns later and a sister joined the family, giving Bitah a friend to play with...and torment just a bit.
Once she was old enough Bitah joined the other weyrbrats in joining the ranks of the Candidates, much to her sister's chagrin. The younger girl always wanted to do everything Bitah did, so it gave her a bit of relief to be away from her family where she was used to being around them all the time. Bitah remained a Candidate for quite some time, Impressing at the age of 21 to a rolly-polly brown who had burst from his shell, marched over to her, and demanded food immediately. Not much changed in the Turns that followed with Phocath always on the lookout for a snack.
Thread returned and Bitah and Phocath rose to the call. Though not the most in shape pair, they've managed to hold their own and have only grown in skill since drilling has become more serious. A Turn or so ago Bitah's father and his blue were lost during Threadfall, jumping Between only to never return. The loss grounded Bitah for a few months, but she was determined to return to fight the age-old enemy with her Phocath.
Other: Had she not been born in a Weyr, Bitah probably would have become a crafter of some kind. In her free time she enjoys making jewelry and carving designs into animal bones.

Physical Description: Very rotund, Phocath is quite chubby for a dragon. His limbs, neck, and tail are a little shorter than average, a bit disproportionate to his body size. Underneath the layer of fat Phocath is actually quite strong and has good control over his movement. His mouth seems to curve upwards a bit more at the edges, giving him a perpetual smile. His headknobs are very short as well, only accentuating his overall roundness.
Personality: Phocath is a very lazy dragon. He would much rather be eating or napping in the sun than doing anything too productive, though he would do anything for a snack or special treat. His intelligence rivals his love of food and he uses that brain of his to figure out ways to get out of training and work. He loves the company of other dragons and is quite the charmer. Phocath rarely chases golds and greens, though he does join their flights to scoop up one of the blue, brown, or bronze losers.
