Physical Description: Tall, slender yet curvy with an almost milk white skin, hip length black hair graced by a single streak of silver the width of a man's palm and soft, lilac blue eyes. Though incredibly delicate appearing, there is a wiry strength to Ranae's body. Most people just fail to see it given her doll-like prettiness.
Personality: Ranae is extremely passionate about the things she's interested in. She embraces everything in her life with a fiery eagerness. And it is really hard to begrudge her that enthusiasm because it is so plainly obvious that she loves what she's doing. It's also made her rather popular amongst some of her more outspoken friends. Who needs a troupe of protestors or speakers when you have Ranae on your side? Besides being mind-bogglingly enthusiastic, Ranae is also someone who will give you 1000% in whatever you ask of her. She has a work ethic that would send most managerial types to their knees in thanks to whatever god sent Ranae to them. She is utterly scupulous about giving her all. To make it even better, very little ruffles or cracks her pleasant, kind-hearted veneer. And it's not an act. She really is just that amiable. She sees no reason why she shouldn't be nice to folks. Besides, she enjoys blowing sunshine up peoples' proverbial asses. It's, well... nice to be nice! In Ranae's world everyone is a friend in fact or potentia.
For all of her friendliness and hardcore work ethics, Ranae is a damned idiot when it comes to social mores and cues. She lives in such an open and embracing state herself that it never occurs to her that another person can't or won't see things in the same light. Oh. And do you have opinions? Well, Ranae has OPINIONS and she will not sway from them no matter how well-reasoned your argument. While she's not entirely hidebound, she does have a set of thoughts that are so ingrained that it would take several acts of more than one god to alter them. Have fun! Additionally, as far as Ranae is concerned, older things are the best. Technology might be great and all, but frankly, she thinks it causes more problems than it can solve. However, this is not to say that she is opposed to all technology. Certainly the advances in medicine are wonderful and anything that can help keep her dragon score free is to be admired. But for herself, she prefers to go as techless as possible. So keep any idiotic, new-fangled gadgets away from her!

History: Ranae was born in Ruatha and had what she would consider to be an average childhood. Her parents were both Beastcrafters and if they were perplexed by their daughter's lack of interest in the family trade, they didn't allow it to color how they treated her. As they almost always found her humming to herself and swaying along to her own music, they simply assumed that the child was meant to be a Harper. Accordingly, once she was old enough, they packed her off to Harper Hall.
Where it was quickly discovered by the Harpers that Ranae had zero talent or skill when it came to music itself. However, young as she was, she did show a remarkable aptitude for dancing. After consulting with both the Courtesan Hall and Ranae's parents, it was decided to send her to Western and once there, her apprenticeship began in earnest.
When she was 17, riders out of High Reaches came in Search and plucked Ranae from her classes to go back up north and stand in hopes of attracting a dragon. While Ranae has her private and carefully unspoken suspicion that people had hoped for her to Impress a gold or even a green, she was instead chosen by a little blue who hadn't hesitated once in his beeline towards her.
In between weyrling classes, Ranae kept up with her dancing as best as possible and was prepared to go back to the Courtesan Hall once training was completed in hopes of attaining her Mastery. The return of Thread put paid to that idea and Ranae remained to High Reaches, learning to combat a menace that should have been gone forever.
It hasn't been easy, but Ranae makes the best of things and with Thread returned, she's found that she's grateful to be at High Reaches if only because it allows her to be sure her family's beast hold remains safe.

Physical Description: Though one of the larger blues, Odileth is unusually slender and well, clumsy. At least on the ground. Once airborne, he is as graceful as any could wish and enjoys trying to mirror Ranae's dancing with his own take on the art.
Personality: Meek and full of constant apologies for his clumsiness, Odileth truly does try his best. He feels that he is only truly in his element once in the sky and it is there that he exhibits a surprising confidence and serenity that vanishes once he is back on solid earth. Really, if he is honest with himself, and he tries to be a very honest dragon indeed, he knows that he apologizes far too much. Just like he knows that Ranae loves him more than life itself. But that doesn't stop the poor dragon from second guessing himself every second he's not flying.
