In a few words; he was quiet, withdrawn and pessimistic. Only on a rare occasion do you see that side of him now, but you should be worried if so.
Yousuke is definitely....more lively now. He seems to always be playful and cheerful , almost too cheerful some would say, like it seems fake even but that's how he is. He doesn’t let negativity affect his mood. He always seems to find the positive in everything. Don’t take by surprise if he teases you, he is those types of adult who acts childlike, he has no boundaries. And he would need to be told firmly.
Yousuke is drawn to interesting individuals, those who are outside of the norm. You can say he likes weird. He also likes the quote “Why blend in when you were born to stand out?”

His peculiarity is where he can twist the minds of those around him; as in they become mad, not evil. But it is a slow process and those who have been around him for long time become as mad as a hatter.
At the first few encounters you may notice something about the atmosphere he caries. You are unsure so it makes you curious yet cautious. It’s a like dealing with the unknown. But the longer you stick around him the easier it becomes to make you go mad.
The drawback is that it affects his own mind as well. Since he was a teenager, the madness has taken over his mind. And due to him often zoning out, or loses his train of thought, he tends to forget about his peculiarity and isn't fully aware of it and it continues to degrade at his sanity.

xxxxxxxxx█ Some things are meant to be kept hidden behind the curtain. Only those who knew Yousuke for long enough that he trusts to tell. You can say he had a rocky start when his peculiarity manifested as a child, having no control he drove his parents mad and both were admitted to the asylum leaving the boy and his brother in the system; confused. The brothers were placed in separate foster homes but the moment any foster family knew his peculiarity he was immediately transferred to another. No one wants to deal with him and the longest he spent with a family was a one month and the cycle continued. Yousuke still never understood why people feared him, names shouted in his direction such as monster. He was soon know as the child no family wanted. He was soon lost in the system when they ran out of foster families to put him in.
He spent about a year on the streets before he was taken into the academy by the headmaster at the time; the JVR Academy. It’s not like he had anywhere else to go. The headmaster at the time heard about him and his story and took him in to give him a second chance. Spent the next several years as a residence in the academy as he was merely ten years old and was too young to attend classes yet, a roof over him and finally somewhere he can stay.
Yousuke’s peculiarity is that he can control ‘madness’ as he can turn those around him mad. But the drawback is that it’ll turn him mad the more he does (even if it was unintentional). Having no one who’s actually help him control it, from the time his peculiarity manifested his mental health went downhill until the madness got to him at a young age and his personality and attitude took a 180 degree turn.
He graduated from the academy and went on to medical school or at least tried. He managed to do about a year or so before dropping out due to harassment from the other students when they knew his peculiarity and the school didn’t want someone like him in their school. Nowhere to go again, he began working with Utsuru in the library.
