[SRP] Mako vs. Maya (friendly sparring)

"Maya." Mako called out with a slight smirk, rolling her shoulders in preparation for their duel. She had met he brown female just the other day and watched her duel another lioness in a rank placement test, having been intrigued by the burned female's display she sought her out and requested a friendly sparing match, if anything it was going to help the red lioness flex her muscles after settling herself into the lands. Yuli, the thorn in her side had kept her attention away from her workouts for sometime now, but with him gone on a Raid Mako found the perfect time to focus on what she wanted most; herself.

Slowly the red female moved into place, waiting for Maya to ready herself for battle.

The red lioness was intriguing to say the least, she had approached Maya with little fear and even dismissed her outward appearance completely, it was strange to have that sort of reaction upon first meeting, normally it was all that anyone noticed when they looked at her. Maya was use to being invisible under the shadow of her own disfigurement. Still, Mako had not cared at all and only seemed interested in Maya's ability to fight. This excited her, she wouldn't lie, the idea of making an ally who didn't see her as a weakness made the brown female pulse with excitement. Perhaps this little duel would do them both some good? Mako seemed very eager to fight, perhaps she also had some rage she needed to sort out as well?

"Mako" the lioness replied with a slight bow before quickly charging at the red lioness.

It was time to see what she was made of.

As quickly as Maya spoke her name Mako was bounding for her, leaping at the other female as quickly as possible. Mako was a bit of a hothead, a confidant hothead but a stubborn lioness all the same. She used her size to help win her duels, her Firekin and God blood was strong. Still, she knew better than to come at this fight fully-cocked, so with a quick turn Mako slid past Maya completely, never landing a single hit.

She turned back to face the brown lioness, smirking. Perhaps this displace of speed was her way of showing off?

As Mako passed her Maya frowned before turning quickly to face her new direction. Was she playing games? It was hard to tell. Her eyes slowly followed the red lioness as they both made circles around one another before meeting in the middle, clashing in a mixture of tooth and claw. Mako bit into Maya's forearm as Maya slashed across her chest, leaving the red lioness covered in a fine layer of blood. This only caused Mako to bite harder, and in return made Maya snarl with anger as the two finally unattached, pushing away from each other as quickly as they could.

Their first real blows were explosive. Perhaps this was why Mako had come to Maya in the first place?

"You're fast." Maya called out as she flashed her fangs at the red female.

"-and you're cunning." Mako replied back, the tone of her voice light and friendly, despite what had just transpired between the two. They had mutual respect for one another, this much was obvious, still, this fight wasn't over just yet. They would both ready themselves for the next attack.
