[DUEL] Back Again (Dreki & Lorelei)

She was out on duty once more, this time to try and calm her raging thoughts. Dreki had requested (read: demanded) this shift after that purely infuriating encounter with... Ugh, she didn’t even want to think of his name. She snarled under her breathe at the reminder of what had happened, and almost stalked right into the water she was walking towards.

It was one of the streams that ran along their border, and a common place for intruders to be at. She was maybe, kind of, sort of hoping that there would be someone there now, stupid enough to not realize where they were and thus an easy target for her rage.

What she wasn’t expecting, though, was for a familiar face to show up, hoping for a rematch.

Lorelei had spent weeks with the lions she had met in the rogue lands training for this fight, she still had a ways to go but she was eager to fight another duel so she was rushing things a little bit. She didn't think she would run into the same female that she had battled the last time. She kinda hoped she would meet that female again, so she could show that she had grown in her strength and was now ready to stand against the storm and not be blown away this time. She made her way to the border and roared her challenge once again. She waited then to see if a guard would arrive so she could declare her desire to duel.

Dreki rose an eyebrow at the roar, pleased to have found someone to expel some of this turbulent energy, though as she got close, she was surprised when she saw who it was.

With a hum, she made her way towards the lioness, “Back for more, are we?” She half wondered if their meeting again wasn’t intentional, but then, she doubted that this one would have known she was coming onto this guard shift. How would she? No, it was far more likely a coincidence.

Dreki braced herself and growled once more, “Lets see if you’ve improved at all.” Then she charged forward once more with a roar.

Lorelei smiled seeing the same lioness as before was there guarding the border. She heard what she said and wasn't really sure what to say. She wanted the fight but saying she was back for more wasn't really how she felt, she wanted this time to be different. She was ready this time for the female not waiting once the challenge had been given this female gave as hard as she could. She ran forward and leapt to meet the female in battle attacking as she had been taught. She growled and roared as she attempted to get the upper paw in their battle.

So she had learned from before - good! Dreki would prefer a new challenge this time around.

With her frustration from before, it was likely that the green Shield Maiden wouldn’t be holding back, nor did she really want to. Let this stranger show that she could fight despite the fury of her opponent.

She grunted as the two lionesses clashed in the air, getting knocked back just a bit before turning to try and rush back with an attack. Throwing out a paw, she swatted in her direction in an attempt to knock the rogue across the head, all while using that momentum to feint to the right.

Lorelei couldn't hold back or she would lose and she wanted this so much, she had decided and she was ready to fight to be a Storm born. She had been foolish before to try without knowing how to fight first, she had learned from her mistakes and she was ready for this battle confident she would come out on top. She wanted this win so much she could taste it. She was hit in the head and had to dodge back to gather her focus before she could make her next move. She steadied herself looking for the opening she needed to make her next attack count.

So she was still standing; that was a far cry from their last fight already. Dreki smirked and pitched forward to tackle her, using her speed to give her strength behind that hit.

Unfortunately, while that did knock the two back, it also left her flank open for attacking. It was a move that she liked to use on newer people, as they never knew to look for it and it was fun to send them flying with the lion-sized torpedo. However, those who did know to look for it also knew that it was exploitable.

The question was: would the rogue notice it too?

Lorelei moved around the other female and then saw the opening and she took it, ramming her weight into the females side. She hoped she would be able to knock the wind out of the other female and end the duel. She didn't think she needed to knock the other female out to win and she certainly didn't have to kill the other female to win the duel. She just had to prove she had what it took to be a storm born. After she made her move she pulled back and watched the other female to see if she would make another move to attack or if she was ready to yield that the battle was over and the win belonged to Lorelei.

Dreki let out an oomph as she was smacked into, not quite expecting the hit from the rogue. Shaking her head to clear it, the lioness threw a narrowed look back at her, and then lowered herself down into another crouch.

"You'll have to do more than that." Then she charged at her once more. The Shield Maiden wasn't one to go down without a fight, and the other lioness would have to do more than that to claim a win. She had definitely improved though, so Dreki opted to put her all into this one attack.

Lorelei dodged the females next attack and then leapt on her to attempt to tackle and pin her to the ground, maybe if she cut off the females airway for a moment she would give up and accept that Lorelei deserved this win. She was running out of breath and needed to end this fight soon. She still needed more training before she would have the stamina to go into a long battle. She had trained with the storm borns she had met but then again she hadn't spent very long with them. So it was still clear that she needed more training before she could really stand on the same ground as this female.

She hadn't been expecting the rogue to dodge out of the way, let alone to counter it by tackled her back. Dreki choked as she was knocked to the ground and pinned, kicking her feet out for all she was worth for a good few minutes until finally she let out a garbled laugh and stopped her struggling.

Fine - that was a smart move. She had to give her that.

The next time she lifted a paw up, it was to nudge at the other female and gasp out a "Yield." As the weight on her was removed, she rolled herself over and gave herself a shake before looking the lioness up and down.

"You know, I don't think I ever caught your name the last time we fought."

Lorelei huffed out and moved off the other female when she finally yielded and she sighed out. "No, I didn't introduce myself, since I didn't think it was important if I couldn't win." She took a deep breath trying to catch her breath after the battle. "I am Lorelei."

She let out a snort at that, "Fair point." The lioness stood up and used her tail to brush off some of the dirt that had caught onto her legs before nodding and introducing herself as well, "Dreki'dido."

Then she smirked, "Welcome to the Stormborn, Lorelei."
