Na'anu had been born slightly before the famine had hit and because of this she really didn't have too many happy memories about her life. She was far too young to feel the hunger she was feeling but instead of whining about it the small cub inwardly hardened. Her and her pup Thanos were off on an outing away from the heart of her family dens trying to escape the harsh reality which was life during this famine. There weren't many places a cub and a pup could go with in the pride but walking helped her feel a little less weak. Thanos stoically trotted beside his master looking pretty sure of himself as a whole. Anything Na'anu needed or, he preceived she needed, he would fetch for her. The purple jackal pup was a dutiful servant to his master.

The gray and white raven sat perched in a scraggly looking tree, high enough that he was out of reach of even the largest of lions. Twice mortals had attempted to murder him, one recently. He did not trust mortals, less now than he ever had before. He was a scruffy looking raven, resting on his branch with one eye open, unwilling to let his guard down, even at this height. If that lion came after him again, Judeau was going to be ready. Wings stretched, feathers ruffling before folding his wings against his back again. Silently he wondered what was keeping Ciro. He was not especially fond of being alone when he knew there was a lion like Kristanf most likely plotting his revenge.

It was Thanos who had noticed the raven up in its perch first. The purple pup took off and went towards the tree barking all the way. He propped him self up at the base of the tree continuing his barking up at the scruffy looking Raven. Na'anu calmly followed after him giving the Raven a glance before lifting her paw and pushing Thanos off the base of the tree. "Leave it alone," Her voice was calm and mature for a cub and a little feint. Thanos whined but did as he was told and stuffed his complaints deep inside. He knew better than to question his master. The cubs cold eyes looked up at the gray raven with mild interest. "He's too far up the tree to do anything. You should only chase something if its actual obtainable." Her hushed calm voice explained to the purple pup. "Of course... I'll keep that in mind," The pups red eyes glanced up at the raven, "I've killed many of his kind any how. This one looks weak. I'll find something more impressive." Na'anu seemed to be ignoring Thanos now and instead seemed a little more interested in the gray raven. While she was still a little beyond her years in some way there was still the curiosity of a cub peaking through at the tattered thing. "It looks like you've seen better days," Her voice was sweet and quiet towards Judeau.

The raven cawed angrily, wings fluttering angrily as he hopped to a higher branch. His eyes narrowed, glaring at the purple pup. I am not afraid of you, you noisy mutt! Back off or you'll find out a raven has a sharp beak and talons! Oh, he was weak was he? I'll show you weak! If Judeau could have growled as a raven, he would have, the sound instead coming out as a gutteral caw. Angrily, the raven turned toward the branch above him, snapping it from the tree with a powerful peak, throwing at the pup below. Take that! A huff, an angry flap of his wings, Judeau settled back in his tree, perching on a branch far out of reach. A last glare at the jackal before his gaze settled on the dark cub. "Perhaps I have." You have no idea, and he was not going to tell. "What do you want?" Grumpy Judeau is grumpy!

It was very reasonable that the raven would be upset but Thanos still growled back and yapped up at the bird. He was met with another soft paw from his master to his head and a disappointed gaze of cold blue eyes. Na'anu was not amused. She looked back up at the raven, "I require nothing of you. Thanos wants to kill you though." Her words were calm and matter of fact. Thanos on the other paw gave the bird a grim grin. His red eyes focused and his ears back as he showed those little puppy teeth. Don't let that cute face fool you as Thanos was a killer. "Do not worry. I don't believe jackals can climb and he knows if he were to try I would think of him as a fool." She was not addressing Thanos directly.

The raven scoffed, the glare of death level on the jackal pup. Just try it, mutt, I'll claw your eyes out! In his true form, Judea was small among gods, perhaps even smaller than mortals born of the stormborn pride, but you will find this raven will not go down so easily! "Far larger creatures have tried and failed." Twice a mortal lion had tried to murder him, both had failed, though one had nearly succeeded, a jackal was the least of his worries (not that he was going to turn his back on the vicious little mutt!). Cute? Most definitely not. "They cannot fly either, though it might be amusing to watch him try." There was a cliff nearby to jump off, go try that.

Oh Thanos wanted to try and break that ravens kneck in his powerful jaws. He snarled as his purple fur bristled and a chain of barks followed. Thanos was still a pup and there for was inexperienced to some degree about picking fights. He wasn't purely a brainless mutt murdering for no reason either; he wanted to gain Na'a**s approval as she was the withholding type. Na'anu sighed at the two and said nothing more. It was clear she was quite unimpressed. Thanos took the moment that Na'anu seemed disinterested and charged at the tree trying to shake it with his little weight as best as he could the whole while barking up at the raven. "COME DOWN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS BIRD!" He snarled. Na'anu took a seat and turned her back on both Thanos and Judeau. She would not watch this foolishness.

A piercing caw, Judeau spread his tattered wings to their full span, propelling him from his perch, a powerful beat holding him airborne. There was fury in his gaze, as if something had snapped and a sudden surge of anger, rage, hurt, and everything that had been building him him sudden broke free. In his fury, the raven down straight for the jackal pup, a flurry of feathers, powerful beak, and sharp talons. He pecked at the jackal's ears, talons reaching for his purple hide, digging in to the scruff at his neck. "Let's see how well you fly." The pup would find his paws lifted from the ground, powerful wingbeats carrying raven and jackal aloft. You thought he was just some weak little bird did you? You're about to find out the hard way he was not! Judeau may have thought for a brief moment of dropping the jackal from the nearby cliffs, but even in his fury, the god of penance was not, nor would he ever be, one to take a life. He would however drop the jackal from several feet in the air, high enough to knock the air completely from his lungs and make him think twice next time.

Thanos had thought he'd been ready when Judeau left his perch but oh was the inexperienced pup wrong about that. He did his best to avoid any heavy damage on his ears but there were still scrapes and oh ... was that a bit of blood too? "YIP!" The pup cried out the moment sharp talons grabbed on to the scruff of his back and he watched the ground get further and further away. Red eyes sadly looked down at Na'anu pleading for her to look at what had happened but she didn't even glance at him or Judeau. He was on his own. His tail curled between his legs and his ears flattened realizing now that he was at the mercy of this raven. Something let go of his back and the ground was rapidly growing closer and closer and .. BAM! Thanos gasped for air. The little pup and bit off a little too much for him to chew and now he was on the ground laying in defeat while Na'anu continued to not acknowledge any of what unfolded while her back was turned. He continued to lay there and gasp for his breath back. "I'd kindly thank you for not killing my jackal raven," Her voice was as calm as ever which was a little eerie. "Maybe he'll learn when its appropriate to pick a fight.. We'll be on our way now." Na'anu, her back still turned, got up and started back down the path. Thanos laid a little longer than he'd like before getting up and limping after his master. He shot the raven a glare over his shoulder as he went. He'd remember this for sure and he'd work on his approach next time he challenged something bigger.

Judeau nodded in satisfaction, that is what you get for underestimating this raven, mutt! The raven might have felt just a little proud of himself, feeling the confidence that had once been shattered by others beginning to return. Even if the pup was far smaller than his last attacker, it was a step. "I do not take life needlessly." A last glare at the jackal, Judeau returned to the sky. He was so done with this s**t, and the jackal was no longer worth his attention or thought. But maybe from now on, the little mutt would think twice before bothering him. Turning, the raven flew off, wings carrying him far away from mutt and cub. It was about time he tracked down Ciro, surely he must be done with whatever rendezvous he had taken by now.
