It had not been long after the twins were born that a terrible famine plagued the pride and so for most of the cubs lives they had known hardships and pain rather than the happy life their father had aimed to provide. Even he could not challenge the wills of a god no matter how much he wanted to. Na'anu had gone from some what of a pleasant mild mannered cub had grown in to a cub with a morose tint over her former self. She was not out spoken but had a cool fire from with in that shown behind her blue eyes. Of course the small lion still had her manners as she was a lady but there was something dark that hadn't been there before. Something that was not supposed to be in a cub so small.
Famine had not been kind and Na'anu had seen things that she should never had if her father was a better protector. He had tried but the truth was he had failed to solve this trouble and now their mother lay ill.
Thanos and Na'anu were just barely out of the families den beside the shore looking outward. Thanos had brought back a dead bird and was pawing at Na'anu who was completely ignoring the pup and instead lost in her own thoughts. The purple pup did a some what circle around the kill before pawing at Na'anu once more. Still, no reaction.
What ever she was thinking right now was unclear as her features did not betray her. There was a stony expression that should not fit for someone her edge yet also looked right at home on her.
What was she going to do about her mother if her father wasn't able to help. If her and Na'ani weren't able to help. What would they do then?
Thanos pawed at his owner once more and again was rejected and ignored.
