The past few weeks had been rough. Adjusting to new roommates, tension with Tevini, studying in his limited free time and training the weird new powers he'd discovered had run Cerpin into the ground. On top of that was keeping the club running to keep everything 'normal'. Would people notice if he was gone? Would it draw suspicion? Or did people really care about that sort of thing? Maybe he could chalk up an absence due to vacationing in the Fronds like any respectable highblood might do. Either way, he could not put off the next stage of their plan any further.

It was time to start looking for a launch site. The theory work was as far as they could get right now without building more elaborate equipment to actually launch. But they couldn't do that from the desert. Nor could they do it from the swamp. They had to find somewhere else that would keep the military from tracing back the unregistered illegal space traffic to the rebellion.

Which was why right now, Cerpin Sugall and his ragtag team of misfits were looking over the sea of trees that surrounded Busthind. It was time to explore the uncharted land beyond the mountains. He took a step down a trail and they began their descent down to the other side of the mountain.

"What a view, huh?" He nudged Tevini, reminiscing back on the time they had climbed this mountain when they were younger. They had pledged to work together towards this very goal of space travel. Who would have thought that sweeps later, they would still be just as awkward and dysfunctional? Sheesh.

"So Rona, how far have you ever gone west of here?" She was the local from the area and had the most experience with the place. Cerpin had no doubts that the rough redblood had ventured past the common borders of Busthind in her youth. It was comforting to have a physically strong troll on this adventure with him. Cerpin didn't view Tevini and Deimos as fragile but he didn't consider them hardy either.

He shot Deimos a brief glance. It would be his first trip with them as a newly initiated rebel. Hopefully, all would go well. The purpleblood was still unsure about the tealblood's admission to him about random moments of insomnia-induced mania. He could only hope that Deimos would warn him before anything happened so they could be prepared for it. Fighting a frenzied Deimos as they scaled down a cliff did not sound like a good time.

It wasn't like he hadn't been out to Busthind before - that's where he'd met Forera and effectively gotten himself into all of this, honestly. But admittedly he'd been a fair bit more well-rested when he was younger, or maybe just more energetic? Either way, Deimos was sorely wishing he'd gotten a few more hours of sleep in him before this trek. He'd been keeping up just fine, but his mind wandered frequently on tangents and sometimes it seemed as though things would move in the corners of his vision. Nothing as bad as the space mission he'd attacked Nictor on, but just enough to get him to glance off to the side every so often.

Finally, instead of uphill they seemed to be moving downhill. That would... probably be easier to handle. Stifling a yawn, he gazed sleepily out over the valley below, squinting to get his eyes to focus a little better. It seemed like a fairly... well hidden area, at least from a distance. This being his first official outing as part of the Initiative, he'd decided to play 'best behavior' and just not speak very much until spoken to. It was undoubtedly very uncharacteristic of him for those that actually knew him, but... this was important, he wanted to make a good impression, and he damn well knew that he had a knack for being a sass. With how tired he was he didn't really pick up on Cerpin giving him any odd looks, probably for the best. The last thing he wanted to worry about was whether or not Cerpin regretted bringing him along.
