 Selune was hot. The desert seemed like a good idea to explore, and for the most part it was! There were ruins for Quella to hunt through, and the greenblood could work on her mapping! Win win! Sadly, Selune was not a desert creature. There were indeed ruins, but they looked far too far away, and Selune wasn't even sure they were real. Didn't trolls start hallucinating or something in the desert? Yeah, she was pretty sure that was it. The greenblood also failed to realize how dry a desert could be. This place of sand and heat... well it sure wasn't the swamp anymore.
"Okay..." Selune said, her wings drooping low. "I don't want to explore anymore, Quella, lets turn around..." Before she was even able to do that much, tho, she flopped down in the sand. "I mean they are ruins Quella, im sure whatever was in them is long gone by now." The greenblood said, her voice muffled through her flop. "And its not "giving up" its a "tactful retreat". Completely different."

"First of all," Quella said, dragging the whiny greenblood backward from where she'd flopped, "I don't retreat. Even the tactful or whatever kind. Ok?" It wasn't THAT hot, since it was night and everything. Oof, the winged troll was HEAVY. "Geez, how do you even fly? You weigh, like, a TON or something." Selune whined some more as Quella dragged her further, making a deep furrow in the sand. "And second of all, no, they're not JUST ruins! Ok? They're super cool old ruins and I wanna explore them and you're being a BUTT." Frustrated, she dropped the greenblood flat on the sand and continued on her own, cresting the dune easily and looking above.
"And THIRD of all, they're right over this dune," the blueblood finished, looking down at the ancient structures of inscribed stone pressed deep into the belly of the desert. She could practically feel the adventure oozing from this place. "Look!" she shouted, pointing at what looked like an entrance. Some troll had planted little flags leading into the mouth of the ruins, and Quella could barely contain her excitement as she strained to see inside.

Floren practically knew the desert between his hive and Chittentown like the back of his hand- all the ruins in that stretch of land were old news, really. But this one... this one was new. Certain precautions must be taken when exploring new ruins - he'd set up some flags outside to mark his entrance, and was in the process of making sure his first aid kit and ropes were in the correct position in his pack when movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention.
The jade looked up, eyes scanning the dunes until they landed on the source- another troll, seemingly alive. It wasn't light enough for Daywalkers to be out, anyway. He couldn't really tell much about them from the distance though. Humming to himself, he weighed his options.. Call for Skoli, or remain where he was. He wasn't exactly hidden, so they'd surely notice him in a few minutes if they hadn't already...
Well- either way he was about to move- it would attract attention. He stooped and slid his pack's strap over his head, settling it on his shoulder, then stood and looked back to the troll...s? Two? On the dune. Perhaps calling Skoli wouldn't be such a bad idea...
