Looking back, he might've seen the signs, if he'd been thinking about it, though the illness came on suddenly. There was an extra chill in his bones that morning before they flew down to the Bowl. He figured it was a cold snap and put on an extra wool shirt beneath his riding gear. But half way through the lesson he'd started feeling tired. Like, just ran ten times around the Weyr kind of tired. Weird.. He must not have gotten enough sleep last night. Maybe he could catch a quick nap between lunch and chores. Or skip lunch altogether maybe, he really didn't feel that hungry anyway...

When the lesson ended he stood a little uneasily. Wavering, he put a hand on Basanuth's flank to steady himself. The turned his long neck to look at his rider, sensing a shift in his frame of mind. His breathing was heavier and more labored than usual, his cheeks flushed, hair wet..

My R'gan, something is not right with you!
"No," he admitted, voice rasping. He could tell that much at least. But he felt fine this morning. "I think.. I might be.." Sick, he thought, right before everything went dark.

Mine! R'gan! Basanuth cried, wedging his head under his riders body so his head and shoulders were lifted up from the snow. Help! Someone, R'gan is in trouble. he called out to anyone present.

Worry was furrowing C'ryn's brow more and more these days, not from anything other then worry for his father. He spent many lessons, listening and going through the motions with Aresoth and then going to the infirmary to check on his father. His mother had been ordered onto bedrest in the weyr, a new sibling would be coming on its way soon. It just seemed like everything was making C'ryn pull himself one way or another.

He was lost in these thoughts after lesson, planning on going to visit his father before checking on his mother, when he was nudged my Aresoth and then Basanuth's voice rang through his mind. His head snapped up, seeing R'gan fall to the ground and he was instantly in action.

"It's okay Basanuth." He spoke to the blue as he neared, helping to take R'gan's weight, his eyes looking over the other boy as he did so. He was hot to the touch, even though it was so cold outside. Worry creased his brow again, the symptoms were the same as what his father had come down with. He worked to get R'gan onto Basanuth's back, making sure to keep a hand on the other boys back to make sure he didn't fall. "We need to get him to the infirmary, it might be the flu that's going around."

Aresoth moved to walk on Basanuth's other side, leaning his head down to gently nudge his brother. They may have differing ideals about a lot of things, but he still cared for his siblings and wanted to help the fears that were doubtlessly going through him. He will be fine, Basanuth. The healers will be able to help him. Whirling eyes flicked to look at C'ryn as he hitched his cloak up more around him, trying to keep the cold away and using the hand that wasn't keeping R'gan balanced to cover his mouth while he coughed. There was a flash of worry, as C'ryn was stretching himself too thin and worrying himself too much at the moment.
