Footsteps crunched through the sand as a figure made its way to the shore. The past few weeks had been a little cool but finally the weather was clear tonight and almost pleasant. A flicker of light glinted ahead and the young troll brightened at the sight of it.
"So? How is it, Sparklepop?" Her voice called out as a shimmering white fish made its way in her direction. She hurried down the trail excitedly hoping for good news. The winter had been so cold and while beautiful, she longed to get back in the water once more. The waves called to her.
"I'm sure it can't be that bad. Feel how warm it is today!" Demari pouted as her lusus attempted to block her path. While the temperature was an improvement from the past few weeks, Sparklepop was known for avoiding even the smallest of risks as much as possible. He'd rather she stay out and wait a little longer.
"Just the feet at least?" Demari asked, stepping delicately towards the water to lightly tease him. Glimmermom laughed as Sparklepop gasped and quickly grabbed the back of her dress with his mouth and attempted to tug her back. The rest of the swarm circled around her, awaiting the word before Sparklepop sighed and gave in for now. He'd keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't go in too deep.
"I'm sorry, there are just better shells further in." The blueblood giggled even though they both knew that wasn't why she was doing this. Still, she dutifully began to scour the low tided area, hopping a little at first as her feet adjusted to the cold water until she was comfortable. As she did, her swarm of fish circled around her lazily, enjoying the view. Some dipped into the water for a reprieve from the air.
One fish, however, floated back towards land. He'd seen a nice patch of long grass that looked perfect for napping out of sight in...
