Ciro'mekaitso had been resting near the borders. After finishing a rather daunting raid, the lion found himself staying at home, something that was rather unusual for the reaver. It was okay, he needed the time off. He wanted to get to know this bird familiar he had found months previously, and now that her wing seemed to be getting better it was the perfect time.
She, however, seemed to have other plans. She talked to the male occasionally, but still did not leave the comforts of the shared den. Ciro shrugged the interaction off, not knowing how birds normally behaved. He'd have to ask Njia, if he ever saw the purple lass again.
His ears perked forward, hearing the roar. A challenger? The last duel he did with Calypso he was the victor. He was curious to see who now was challenging the lions. Rising to his feet, Ciro trotted out, meeting the call. "You wish to challenge the Stormborn?" The male asked, catching sight of the other lion.
"Well then challenger, show me what you got?" Ciro never made the first move.

Ciro was impressed to say the least. When the lion recovered from his body slam, and quickly reacted against it with his claws, the Reaver found the claws hitting his shoulder. The one thing he noticed was the weakness of the force behind the strike. As the claws left his skin, Ciro side-stepped, golden eyes reflecting in the little sunlight. They narrowed slightly as he began to speak.
"Put more force if your throws if you want to prove yourself." Already though the dark lion figured this male could be a good candidate for the pride, but he needed to see a few more attacks before he either chased the male out for good, or welcomed him to the lands and would bring him to the new Warlord.
"If you want to stay, give me everything you got," Ciro taunted, launching again for the male, this time his teeth aiming for his neck.

Ciro made a big 'omph' as a paw collided with the soft part of his underbelly. You see, this was the reason he hated dueling. To him, this was almost a cheap shot. But it was something a Viking would sometimes need to do in order to win.
The dark lion approved. So much, that when he stumbled to the ground, he held up a paw to end the battle. "I've seen enough." He huffed, regaining the wind that had been knocked out of him. "You definitely have the strength and wit of a warrior. If you choose, I will escort you to our War Lord. You have gained my respect as a Reaver, and I will vouch for your strength." Ciro commented, slowly rising to his feet. Man, a blow to his belly hurt.
"Do you agree?"

Tai had tensed up quite a bit, eyes narrowed as he tried to process the unfamiliarity of excruciating pain and what his next move might be and how fast he had to act so he wouldn't get pinned down or seriously wounded, but when the dark male held up that paw Tai could only blink and try to process that on top of everything else. Was it a trick? Some kind of tactic? He stepped back in defense as Ciro huffed, he himself fighting to catch his breath.
Though he very visibly relaxed as soon as Ciro began to speak and explain himself, giving his approval. "I agree, and I accept that offer," he said, stepping toward the other once he was finally back on his feet. "I have a mate, though, waiting for my return. Would I be able to bring her here once I've met with your Warlord?"
He looked hopeful, if quite a bit in pain--he was keeping as much weight as he could off of the shoulder that Ciro had bitten into.

Gold colored eyes glanced at the wound, and the lion not bearing his weight as well on it. "There are those specialized in herbs in the pride that can look at that. But, I would advise to not show your pain from such an injury. I'll let it slide, as you are probably not use to our lifestyle, though others in the pride can sniff out such weakness and use it to their advantage." The male stated, walking ahead of the other, expecting him to follow.
"What's your name?" He'd need it to introduce the lion to the warlord.
"She too would need to go through the same process of joining. She will challenge, and need to prove her strength just as you have." He paused, thinking. "If she doesn't pass, she will be run off or taken as a thrall." Ciro gave a sideways glanced at the male. "We don't go easy based on gender, I might add." He told the other, continuing well into the pridelands.

The warning had the gray male straighten himself out, forcing his expression to neutrality despite the pain coming from his shoulder. If weakness was an issue, he could control himself enough to not show any. Or at least he would rather believe he could and try his damndest, especially if it meant his family would be left alone. Tai followed after Ciro as soon as he started to move, and he stayed mindful of the surroundings so he could find his way back down once this introduction was complete.
"Tai'li, or otherwise just Tai," he replied, and then listened and nodded along as the other male went on to explain the challenge that would be ahead for Aelin. He didn't let his disappointment or worry show, though he did feel confident enough that she would manage just fine on her own. He considered his words for a moment, and then nodded.
"Whatever it takes for us to settle into a new home," was what he finally said.
